I also think it has to do with money. Alex Jones doesn’t make money by not pushing conspiracy theories.

Countries like the US and Russia are using conspiracy theorists to spread fake news, and to study how to spread fake news and misinformation. Donald Duck won the last election by resorting to Russian hackers and someone in the Justice department suddenly deciding it was a good idea to open an investigation on Hillary two weeks before the election. The less our politics actually reflect the real world, the more they will target them as a way to cost the wealthy money and power, and to undermine their authority, which is slipping further into the toilet every day. My own work is in how to make it harder to detect them, so the monkey will spend all his time chasing the weasel, making it unprofitable.

The wealthy have "the authority" ?? WTF does that mean?? If one has lots of money, they have power and authority?? (and should have it all??) That's how Russia operates - they are an oligarchy. An oligarchy is where the few people with most of the money make all the rules and laws, and control ALL political opposition. They don't allow any opposition - which is pretty much what Trump and his herd of LEMMINGS wanted to install here in the U.S. - all while attempting to claim they believe in our Constitution!! The Constitution guards AGAINST authoritarian / dictatorial rule by one person ........... that's because the founders were rebelling against King George of England's rule. The founders didn't want a country with an autocratic form of government. They just L-E-F-T one - England !!!!!!

The founders immediately changed their fucking minds, and wanted George Washington for a king. The wealthy are funny that way, and follow the money and power wherever they lead. Your constitution has been shredded, your judicial system has been gutted, film at 11:00pm on Fox News!

The majority barely trusted each other enough to form a common defense against the British, and should have lost the war by all accounts. Eventually, they would have driven the British out no matter what, simply because there was too much money involved, and everybody wanted a slice of that pie. Forget about empires ruling the world, the international conglomerates have run it since the Roman empire at least.

I was talking about real evidence put before RATIONAL PEOPLE, Tish!!! Retrumplicans aren't rational AT ALL. Trump could tell his loyal LEMMINGS that his poop is actually chocolate, and they'd be lined up beneath his hemorrhoids with their mouths open.

Conspiracy theories are the reason for the population of the US, ED, UK, and Japan becoming stupid? Really thats a first time thing for me. These theories aren't necessarily the reason for our nations dumbing down. Laziness is more of a factual reason. That was funny.

Did you know that thermite bombs caused the WTC towers to collapse

Prior to the event, workmen who were really terrorists pulled down 560 ceilings in the buildings, spent months drilling through the reinforced concrete, planted detonators in the holes and then ran miles of cables across the offices and down the stairs.
They then took over a whole floor of the buildings to connect the whole lot up

Meanwhile, the 3,000 workers in he offices were given earplugs and 10 aspirins every day to avoid any headaches. They were also given vouchers for their suits to be dry cleaned daily, along with tins of shoe polish.

Needless to say. NOT ONE of them asked what was going on. :);):)

That is just an amazing fantasy. I am always amazed at how these theories come to life years later...

If you had ever heard that stupid theory, you would have laughed just as much as I did. Thermite is far from explosive and when you start the reaction in welding railway lines, you have time for a cup of tea while it is reacting.

the really stupid part was when they found thermite residue in the wreckage, no one stopped to think that it was used during the construction of the buildings.

You can laugh at my lighthearted comment, but had it been used to cause the collapse, my account would have been very real.

While living in Las Vegas we had occasion to watch the demolitions of several old casinos. Always a big show, a really really big show!

I was actually there for this one! It was sad in a way as we had so many good times in that tower!

Not conspiracy theories, lies are making people stupid. English speaking cultures promote compulsive liars, with Donald Duck having well over 4,000 blatant lies attributed to him during his time in office alone. The man could not tell the truth if you tried to torture it out of him.

For lies to work - you need a VERY GULLIBLE, UNDER-EDUCATED set of listeners. Anger and desperation by folks feeling "left behind" in the economy only adds fuel to the fire of eager listeners looking for easy answers to their life's problems.

Perhaps if they paid more attention in school, and studied harder - enough to be accepted into college with good grades ........... maybe they'd have enough mental "ammunition" to be able to sort out the facts from the lies. I've got family members in this very situation .................... and they SUCKED DOWN all the lies, conspiracy theories, Covid-19 misinformation, election "steal" bullsh*t, "lizard people" Jewish space lasers, etc. They paid NO ATTENTION while in school - thought school was stupid / a waste of time, etc. No college .............. good GOD! - high school was a pain their ass!!! Why go for more "pain" in college?? And today ........... their lives are - and have been - a huge struggle.

No wonder they - and others just like them - look for VERY EASY answers to their life-long problems.

Former Trump casino where stars played goes out with a bang

(AP) — A spot on the Atlantic City Boardwalk where movie stars, athletes and rock stars used to party — and a future president honed his instincts for bravado and hype — was reduced to a smoking pile of rubble on Wednesday.

The former Trump Plaza casino was imploded after falling into such disrepair that chunks of the building began peeling off and crashing to the ground.

A series of loud explosions rocked the building around 9 a.m., and it started to collapse almost like a wave from back to front until it went straight down in a giant cloud of dust that enveloped the beach and Boardwalk. Overall, it took the structure less than 20 seconds to collapse.

“I got chills,” Mayor Marty Small said. “This is a historic moment. It was exciting.”

He estimated the remaining pile of rubble is about eight stories tall, and would be removed by June 10. Some of it could be used by environmentalists interested in building an artificial fishing reef off the coast of Atlantic City.

The removal of the one-time jewel of former President Donald Trump's casino empire clears the way for a prime development opportunity on the middle of the Boardwalk, where the Plaza used to market itself as “Atlantic City's centerpiece.”

“The way we put Trump Plaza and the city of Atlantic City on the map for the whole world was really incredible,” said Bernie Dillon, the events manager for the casino from 1984 to 1991. “Everyone from Hulk Hogan to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it was the whole gamut of personalities. One night before a Tyson fight I stopped dead in my tracks and looked about four rows in as the place was filling up, and there were two guys leaning in close and having a private conversation: Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty."

“It was like that a lot: You had Madonna and Sean Penn walking in, Barbra Streisand and Don Johnson, Muhammad Ali would be there, Oprah sitting with Donald ringside,” he recalled. “It was a special time. I'm sorry to see it go.”

Though the former president built it, the building is now owned by a different billionaire, Carl Icahn, who acquired the two remaining Trump casinos in 2016 from the last of their many bankruptcies.

Small proposed using the demolition as a fundraiser for the Boys And Girls Club of Atlantic City, and began an auction for the right to press the button that would bring the structure down.

But Icahn — a donor and former special economic adviser to Trump — objected on safety and liability issues, and got the auction house to halt the bids. Icahn said he would replace the $175,000 that had already been bid with his own money.

Opened in 1984, when Trump was a real estate developer in his pre-politics days, Trump Plaza was for a time the most successful casino in Atlantic City. It was the place to be when mega-events such as a Mike Tyson boxing match or a Rolling Stones concert was held next door in Boardwalk Hall.

Ron Gatewood, a food and beverage worker at Trump Plaza from 1986 until its closing in 2014, brought food and drinks to stars including Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross and Barry White in their hotel rooms.

“They were very down-to-earth people,” Gatewood recalled. “They never made you feel less-than. They tipped very well. Well, some did, anyway.”

The casino even had a cameo in the film “Ocean’s Eleven.” When George Clooney and Brad Pitt recruited actor Bernie Mac’s character to help with a Las Vegas casino heist, they plucked him from Trump Plaza, where he was a dealer.

Bob McDevitt, president of the main casino workers' union, said the place oozed glamor and buzz when it first opened.

But things began to sour for Trump Plaza when Donald Trump opened the nearby Trump Taj Mahal in 1990, with crushing debt loads that led the company to pour most of its resources — and cash — into the shiny new hotel and casino.

“The moment that the Taj Mahal opened up, it began a decline for the Plaza,” McDevitt said. “In order to make sure the Taj Mahal was successful, they shipped all the high rollers from Trump Plaza and Trump's Castle to the Taj, and they really didn't invest in the Plaza much.”

The Trump Taj Mahal, one of the casinos acquired by Icahn, has since reopened under new ownership as the Hard Rock.

Trump Plaza was the last of four Atlantic City casinos to close in 2014, victims of an oversaturated casino market both in the New Jersey city and in the larger northeast. There were 12 casinos at the start of 2014; there now are nine.

By the time it closed, Trump Plaza was the poorest-performing casino in Atlantic City, taking in as much money from gamblers in 8 1/2 months as the market-leading Borgata did every two weeks.

Short-term plans call for the site to be paved to provide new parking while a permanent development project is considered.

MANY of Trump's businesses ended in bankruptcies. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Now, he reportedly owes upwards of $421 million to creditors from various places and countries. And he has lawsuits coming at him like machine gun fire from several jurisdictions, entities, and individual people. :):):)

Don't forget, Donald Duck is now wanted in Tehran, and Interpol will pick him up the minute he attempts to leave the country.
