Eat them. I'm vegan primarily for the environmental benefits, then the health benefits, then the animal welfare stuff last.

They have a collective consciousness, and a personal identity. I believe ,though I'd never be able to prove it. But I believe the earth is alive, and every life form that springs from her knows her beauty, and is willing to ly down it's life to continue her great transformation. Except humans in some instances, bc they understand evil, and do not always give reverance to those beings that keep us here and alive, the wonderful plant and animal world. I believe in all goodness, plants, and even animals, willingly give the life force of their individual, to continue the collective consciousness of all. If you partake of their flesh (or a vegetables) and do not feel truely thankful than you a partaking in a selfish act.

So to me, they feel. All beings feel. and thats why you should respect them when they give you their energy in the form of nutients, so that this great wheel of life keeps on turning.

So if that happened, what you say, I'd probably just say I know already. :) but they'd feel the greatest pain if you did not respect their sacrifice.

Well i realise they "feel" in SOME sense, anyway, and i am always grateful for the opportunities i get to eat, and i never over-eat either. I would continue as i am, and be just as thankful, and just be glad i dont have to harm the moving creatures of this Earth

The only thing I do not understand is this.....for the ppl that say they would not eat...because they wouldnt want to harm another living thing, well, if you do not eat you are harming yourself....and we are afterall living things with feelings.....

    Well said

I believe fruits, veggies and plant matter are meant to be eaten, it shows in their design, and i have great respect for them despite this, and am grateful for each meal. No more can be done or we'd die, and thats not right

some good responses, but i don't really believe you guys would just let yourselves starve to death..
but yea, plants are definitely alive and breathing. they do their thing, but maybe their purpose is just to be killed and eaten.. but then the food chain comes up, maybe that's just how life is, some things are just meant to be killed and eaten, unless they manage to survive.. i just find it funny how some plants and some animals are seen as better compared to others in a way..
also it's funny how plants create natural defenses, like coffea plants or cannabis, but that just makes the plant even more sought after

i doubt any other animal is greatful for the food it eats

From the scientific standpoint obviously plants have a little bit more of a job than just being killed and eaten....there is that little matter of photosynthesis and the such...haha.

well, since the original question is purely speculative, my answer is also.

so, i hope plants don't start growing central nervous systems any time soon or i may have to starve myself.

A lot of plants don't even need to be killed to be eaten. You just yank off the fruit and leave the rest alone.

    Empty brag.

The power used to start your computer is killing animals as we speak... But I don't see you turning it off, much less killing yourself.
