I live in NYC and every time I ride the subway I see a NYPD add which says, " If you see something say something. Last year over 1434 New Yorkers saw something and said something." Hmm!... Here's my question: If OVER 1400 New Yorkers saw something (a package or backpack) and reported it to the NYPD, what could that possibly mean? (A) Over 1400 suspicious terrorist incidents occured in NYC subway? (B) Over 1400 concerned New Yorkers noticed something? And those 'concerns' turned out to be nothing since we, the public, didn't hear anything on the media. (C) Over 1400 New Yorkers got paranoid and ran to the phone? (D) Or is the NYPD becoming concerned/paranoid because they don't have relyable sources, etc.,etc.? Now, NYPD is even running a comercial every day on the public TV networks. You just read (saw) something, would you like to say something?
dude . .they're trying to look out for the best interests of the public. do those signs apply strictly to terrorism? or are they talking about child abuse or drug deals, too? i've stepped up to stop a woman i didn't i know from being abused..you know?
YES!!! They apply strictly to terrorism. A package under a seat and a backpack left unattended in a subway screams TERRORISM! 'BOMB! BOMB! BOMB! Watch out! OMG, I hear something ticking!' Anyway, without veering off the subject, the add on the subway and the comercial on TV are specific warnings about TERRORISM. And, I agree with you it would have been much, much better if they were signs warning people about crime in general, such as child abuse, child abduction, drugs, prostitution, etc. but they are not. They are talking about TERRORISM - PERIOD!
