yeah dude i didnt know that Tosh wrote alot of Nesta n the Wailers early stuff.

I prefer Marley to Tosh, however their version of get up stand up together is pretty special.

Just wondering do you know why he left the Wailers, ?
or why Bunny left?

 

Peter tosh is awesome... i dont really have a favorite song... i like everyone in bob marley & the wailers.

Do you know why he n Bunny left the original wailers?

 

well Bob was actually the first to give it up (as in leave the Wailing Wailers) he moved to the states to work in a factory - Vision took over doing alot of lead vocals for a while - Bunny & Peter as well - Bob did end up coming back when there was more money to be made - Bunny never really had any intension of ever leaving the island - when babylon producers wanted to push Bob to the forefront it may have caused tension however Peter had his own agenda and went on to become (in my opinion) the most Powerful and Phophetic voice in the world in and outside of reggae music - reggae was changing into BUMBA-KLAAT POP BULLSHIT and Peter was not going to change the content of his music to fit the popularity contest of Babylon radio - Peter was angry at the shitstem and spoke of it in his lyrics & during concert speeches - he was ANTI-RACIST he was ANTI-APARTHIED he was angaist corrupting the youth with lies - which made him a target of the DOWNPRESSORS that had an interest in every likkle ting he opposed
Bytheway (Aparthied was a "corporate political government" responsible for raping Africa of resources and putting children deeper and deeper into poverty- the word 'Aparthied' means segregation)

im not crazy about peter tosh. i dont feel he sings with any of the feeling and sincerety that bob does. but man, if you guys like bob marley you have to hear some of the songs off of the soul rebel, duppy conqueror, and mellow mood cd. good songs. peace and much love to all of you.

 

the cds in which you speak of are the old "pre-TUFFGONG" recordings - the recordings with Peter Tosh playing MOST of the instruments - it seems like you may be young in your reggae journey ( no one who has been exposed to JAH music for a length of time would say Peter does not sing with feeling???) I think this is a case of mistaken identity - do you hear the difference in Wailers songs like "Stop the Train I'm leavin'" "African Herbsman" "Go Tell It on the Mountain" "Downpresser Man" ALL Peter Lead vocals etc etc etc- go listen to those cds you just recommended to everyone - and you're really listening to Peter Tosh's lyrics his music and alot of times his lead vocals
