So, if you were forced to exit the USA forever and could never return, what would you miss?

    Me?

    -The vast amounts of microbrews.
    -people too

-as for scenes, there are comparable scenes across the globe, so not so much.

    can you elaborate on that?

I think the ease of existing, at least for me, would improve elsewhere, for sure. In fact, from my (limited) travels I have found IT HAS.

i know you wanna be an expat. i'm cool with that, that's fantastic, follow your dream and find that place you're supposed to be: you're a pilgrim. but you're not the first to live overseas. there's areas of my life that are MUCH easier here. it just IS. it fits my rhythm, it fits my soul, it fits my life. it is pure EASE.

aside from suburban sprawl, douchebag government, and the health care bullshit its not bad here

I used to want to live elsewhere, and came very close, but for now i am fine living here and making my own world within it, which is what you have to do anywhere

but yea, North American women are good I like them :D

NFL football makes me think twice about living here, but I can just put earplugs in when fuckhead neighbors cheer and boo and curse

Seeing as no matter where you are, you're still likely directly affected by the US in some manner, I don't think it really matters what I'd miss. My family, of course, but no one's saying they can't come along as well.

    I would miss the simplicity.

No other place is as simple.

It is both beautiful and depressing at the same time.

    there are particular places, the spiritness of them, the rocks and trees and little furry creatures that live there, but of the u.s. as such;

not a damd thing, if i could live the way i personally believe in, which i can't here anyway.

I would probably miss the simplicity, like Rubin said.

I would miss opportunities that America has. No other country offers such a wide range of education and possibility for a future to young kids. Most other countries, you have to follow in your parents foot steps...that is the last thing I want to do...I don't want to suffer financially like they did.

What? I don't think so. Maybe some cases, but that can be found in and out of the US. But again, not really.

That doesn't mean it is good. The American education system is known to be kind of a joke. Plus college is far to expensive, and again, much easier. Every year, just looking at my school, we get dozens of international students (like many other colleges in the nation) and they are always saying how much easier US classes are. When students go back to, say France, an 18/20 in the US is knocked down to a 16/20, because classes here are known to be easy, and most countries grade down a little. Just wanted to shine some light on that subject for you, thats all. Each system has its pros and cons. I would hate the french system, not because it is harder (which it is), but for other reasons.

    Friends and family aside.

The culture. The US is the cultural center of the world. There are more superlative books written, movies filmed, music made, and other art created then in anywhere else in the world.

Everythings very on demand. In a larger city you can get anything you want. If you want to pay a vagrant to feed you food at a Nepalese restaurant, then it can happen.

Very little else. But theres no where in the world that I see is much better. Canada seems pretty cool, and Norway.

there's such a massive diversity here, both in people and landscape. that doesn't mean that i wouldn't want to spend a few years living elsewhere, maybe even retiring in mexico or something.

Ah, retiring in Mexico would be nice. Wake up around 11, eat some spicy food, perhaps with a cerveza.

    And the senoritas! :D

apparently the retirement villages are SUPER CHEAP and beautifully staffed. it's becoming quite the industry. you live in a beautiful cabana, you have maids, you have the weather, the beach, the service, the alternative health care (if you wish). my parents want to lease a beach house for their retirement years. me and the girls could go down for the summer. mexico was always my favorite summer destination, and i love the supermarkets down there.
