This here is a thread for folks taking the dog into the gathering to coordinate plans, synchronize watches, etc. We will have a much easier time of it if we can set up some kind of meetup on the greyhoud bus.
The closest geryhound station to Elkins is in Clarksberg, roughly 60 miles northeast. Lucky for us Clarksberg is only 5 miles from I-79, basically everybody driving to the gathering from anywhere west of Elkins will have to drive past that point.

I will be going sometime between the 23rd and the 27th from Annapolis md. My bus arrives in clarksburg at 10:55am. There is my schedule.

Here is a link to the greyhound website http://www.greyhound.com/home.asp

I too will be riding the dog. I haven't got the right schedule yet till I get my ticket, which will be in about a week. Should definitely synchronize though. Do you know exactly what day you will be in Clarksburg? Also, btw, does anyone know how strict greyhound is with baggage limits? Cause I have a pack that has an external frame, and hope that it's not too big to check w/o paying an extra fee. Thanks. I think we should keep this thread going for all the dog riders.

I rode the dog a coupla times with my external frame. Mostly just don't have a bunch of shit strapped to the outside, take a large collapseable duffel for that stuff and strap up when you arrive.

You can take some totally massive items on the greyhound, no need to worry about that. Becareful though about putting fragile stuff in your pack, big packs go in the luggage compartment under the bus and get banged around alot, and the luggage dudes are not very careful about not breaking things. Anything fragile should go on the bus with you.

I still don't know exactly when I will be going, but I am fairly open and can coordinate with folks easily.

Howdy friends, just thought I'd offer to pick up folks in Clarksburg and give you all a ride to the gathering. I live in Elkins and just so happy the gathering is here in my backyard so to speak once again after 25 long years. I have room for 4 in my car but not sure how that would include gear too.
    Peace

Well if you don't mind stuff tied to the roof of your car (ropes can mess up the paint job) then that would be an option for folks gear. Most people don't seem to have all that much gear anyhow.
