Why then are there no massive protests around the world demanding governments to stop the war in Ukraine right now?
The escalation is putting our lives at risk and even worse... the lives of those we love most: our children and grandchildren.
The demand must be towards the 3 parties involved: Russia, Ukraine and NATO's members. It is their obligation to stop this madness now. It's the first time I've heard that to fight the fire, more wood must be made. This is what NATO is doing as the only way.
It is a contradiction for them to recognize that the more cornered the genocidal Putin is, the more risk of nuclear war there is. But they continue to provide more and more weapons as the only way.
I think we must realise that this must stop now. It doesn't matter how but the respective governments have to stop it now. If we don't demand it for ourselves, we must demand it for our children at least.

Capitalist governments in both Germany and the uk are in financial crisis and therefore providing Ukraine with weapons is one way to ease their financial status. No way will they let this useful little tool go !!!

You may want to consult Neville Chamberlain. "Peace in our time", and all that.

I agree it is an awful situation.

Putin is not going to back down and this may lead to tactical nukes soon... if that happens we'll have Armageddon raining down across the globe and all will suffer.

None of this is worth the price we are all paying.

Another angle to remember is the damage. So many homes detroyed, lives lost already, All that toxic shit being blown into bits blowing all over...people are sick already. And with no heat or electric this winter many will die.

Pretty sure as crazy as it all seems, an absolutely M.A.D. scenario would be unlikely. A half dozen plus modern "Nagasakis" I'd believe, but a full arsenal launch? Humans may be capable of incredible and numerous acts of sheer stupidity but I don't think we're dumb enough to go quite that far.

Take a look at the antics of Donald Trump during his Presidency, and the antics of Boris Johnson during his premiership and then look at what has happened here in the uk during the past six weeks. You may then need to rethink that.

With a senile old man and a mad genocidal as the most powerful in the world, our future is very uncertain.

I know that for many the fault lies only with Putin. It is true that he is primarily responsible for having started the war. But that does not take away the great responsibility of NATO members. It was known that extending NATO to the east would be a source of conflict. Not to mention entering the former USSR. That was too provocative. They couldn't ignore it.

Maybe yes, maybe not. We'll never know since it is impossible to turn back time and take another path (I wish we could ).
Anyway, if they had done so, he wouldn't have had the excuse that Russia is at risk because Ukraine will be filled with NATO missiles, etc.

The chances for a nuclear war is very high. But it is not correct to worry ourselves to death in the process.

If it happens take it as part of destiny, and a sign of our own lack of skills and wisdom in managing human relationships and resolving conflicts peacefully. Hopefully the rest of humanity will be wiser with the experience.

Perhaps it may not happen as well. So why worry and ruin our present moment, amigo ! :)
