If being a hippie was considered to be updated in the 90s, what does that make us now

    It makes us people who still needlessly label things.

    I don't think "hippie" works anyomore, as it is no longer "hip" to love, be peaceful, & have your own opinions.

    Honestly thoguh, I'll just stick with "person". Labels just undermine the meanings of things & the individuality of each person.

    Yup, I agree. As a label it has become kind of obsolete.

    Not at all. Perhaps it seems sometimes a bit like that in the greater picture but it's really valued and appreciated by most individuals.

    Only if the label is misused. They are invented for a purpose and they will always have a purpose. Point is that labels are easily overvalued as a quick judgement and a generalization and are used out of proportion. The original use often still stands though.
