IDENTIFY this opiate substance?

hi,

ive read alot of posts and im a devoted member of erowid but my question is regarding a substance i have never actually seen before until now. sure i can look at pictures and compare but feedback would be nice

i was given "opium" from a VERY good friend, however i believe that he doesnt even know if its genuine or not.

many speak of the rarity of opium in the states so i question the validity of someone just handing it to me.

DESCRIPTION: it is small and in the shape of an oval about the size of a dime. Black and sticky but not to sticky. definetly doesnt stick to my fingers. keeps it shape but is maleable. there is a tint to it...like a brownish dark red when i pull it apart and it smells very very potent. it resembles the last image of three images in the opium image vault but in no way resembles to two pictures above. it is not ROCK like in the first two pictures....?

i also read that people can get "black tar opium" confused with black something heroin, or am i wrong.

am i dealing with fake stuff here?

oh ...but it is not RED, just a very dark tint to it...not entirly black....i have seen, infact owned, red opium insense and it is nothing like that.

WOw all i can tell you is you defintaly dont have opium. Opium is black, shiny, and sticky and melts at the touch of a lighter

 

Sounds like Dragons Blood incense, especially since you said it has a very potent smell. Guess there's only one way to find out.

 

there is no opium in the usa . tar heroin smells of pickels i would say that tar is diactyl opium and not dimorph [herion .....i bet tar has dicodine in it cause they just boild some crude opium extract what is white vinigar minus the 95 %water ....all they have in the usa is heroin and pharmie pills like dilaudid oxys n morphine ....that shit hippies sell is a ripoff ....drugstores that compound have liquid deoderized tincture of opium ....yummy

 

^^^ there most definately is opium in the united states, it's just very rare. It's kindof like hashish, really, most of it is home-made although you will run into it on the market time to time.

 

If it is stringy, it is fake.

QFT, there is opium in the USA. I tried it last year on campus. Like extreme pot, and it has a distinct taste. We bought a couple g's for $30 a pop. We smoked it using a needle, a cork, and a jar. The high easily justified spending $30 a g.
