Ideas for long distance relationship gifts?

Hi all, My boyfriend is away for 2 months on the other side of the Atlantic and I miss him all the time. I want to send him little gifts to let him know I'm thinking of him, but I want to make them myself rather than buy them.

I have got a few ideas from this forum and made things like "his n hers pillows" and used my own handmade paper for a journal to give him when he returns. I really like doing things like this, but can't seem to find many original, interesting ideas anywhere.

If any of you kind people can think of something creative I could make for him, it will make his day and put a smile on his face,

I dunno if you sew, but maybe you could sew him a pair of PJ pants or something so whenever he sleeps in 'em, he will think of you (even though I'm sure he will anyway). Or maybe crochet him a hat, if he's into wearing hats and stuff. I don't know what kind of style he has, but would he wear a hemp necklace or bracelet? I personally draw all my cards, and my bf and I have a long distance relationship, so I like drawing cards and sending them to him. Or...you could make a picture frame out of...I dunno...twigs from your yard or something, and then put a picture of you in it. So that way, he has a little piece of home and he has a picture of you.

How about some mixed CD's or tapes? I love those, and they're so fun to make and get! You can make them for whatever mood you're in, or whatever mood you want to put him in

I thought of something else too, he is a big tea drinker so i am going to use ceramic paints to make a personalised mug for him and send it to him filled with tea bags and sugar lumps, he he.

i think cds would be really good. send him like one every couple of weeks. My sweet husband gives me a new cd just about every couple of weeks. Maybe make themes for them. You can make your own cd inserts too.

You should send him the journal now, so he can write in it while he's away, maybe about little things he does during the day, or things that have made him think of you, and have him give it back to you when he's done. Then this way you could have a day by day account of what his trip is like. aww that'd be so cute.
