That's a bit cold for me. I have swam nude in sixty five degree water before. It takes a little time getting used to it. I have to ease in slowly especially when I get chest deep. Once I'm fully in and moving along I tend to warm up. Any colder causes the skin to burn and takes the breath away no matter how I try to get accustomed to the temp.

I agree! I don't understand this polar club stuff. I have gotten into cold water, but not freezing, and there was a sauna right there to run into to get warm.

Or the other way around. I like going from the hot sauna or whirlpool to the swimming pool set at 83 to 85 degrees. It's a nice cool down from the 100 plus temps.

Hoped his feet didn't stick to that railing!

Brings to mind - has anyone done a naked Swedish sauna, then ran outside into the snow? I’d love to try it!

I went from a heated pool to jump onto a snowbank once. it was shall we say rather invigorating!

Never did a large temperature change such as that. I been in a 140F degree sauna and plunged into a 83F degree pool. It does feel good. We have to wear suits here in the US.

Agreed! A nice afternoon session of alternating between the two can be quite exhilarating!

Actually my experience is that it's not so hard to come out of a 90°C (195 F) Finnish sauna and than jump into the fresh white snow and make snow angels than to jump into an icy pool. You know your body is heated up and so the snow feels great.

Due to corona lockdown all public saunas and spas are closed here *sigh*.

All this talk of saunas has got me thinking about building one. I've got a Finnish neighbor who is pushing me to to it, and I have a small outbuilding that would be perfect for it. We get plenty of snow here in the American Midwest, so all this talk is getting me excited.

Your neighbor is a smart bloke. You should heed his advice.

I'm going to look into it. The outbuilding is about the right size for a sauna and dressing area. It isn't being used for anything, and it's got electricity. Perfect.
