Ian Blair

Tough call this one. I was no great admirer of Ian Blair - I thought he badly mishandled the Stockwell shooting, and he seems to have alienated several colleagues from ethnic minorities. But it does set a dangerous precedent for him to be forced out of office by the Mayor, given that he was actually answerable to the Home Secretary, and it's downright scary that the Tories want to block the appointment of a permanent successor until after the next election.

 

I hate Boris, but I think forcing Blair out was the best thing he's done since taking office....
