So I was thinking it shouldn't be too hard to make a grappling hook gun batman-style thing. It would be really useful for my usual drugged out, running around the city, bombing escapades. I could easily make/buy from the army surplus store or something an actual grappling hook and I have some good cord/rope and pulleys. The simplest idea is just to get a grappling hook with a pulley on it connecting to a harness made of seatbelts and you would only have to pull half your weight up (pulley=twice the string to pull, but half the weight), which would be doable, but not quite as cool, or if I went out and bought a locking pulley, that would be even better. I want to make something usable and sturdy with the least money possible. Those are the rudimentary ideas, but I also want to think about propulsion and automated hoisting. For propulsion, aside from just throwing the grappling hook, I was thinking of building either something spring-loaded, using air pressure somehow, or (If I were to spend money), a modified airgun of some sort, but automated hoisting and a way to keep yourself hanging from something without having to hold on to a rope or tie a really bithcy knot is the hard part. I'm wondering if some sort of modified hand drill with a wheel to collect the rope would work, something like what's featured on this webpage: http://domyco.com/steel-ind-equip/portable-winch-feature.htm Anyways, I want to build some sort of grapple hook, any ideas? e: something like ResQMax, but homeade and cheap
synthetic rope, a meat hook, speargun (sporting goods stores, probably online) I say synthetic rope cause when you tie the rope to the hook you'll want to use fire to fuse it shut. Make sure the meat hook has a "O" shape on the end so the rope doesn't slide out. Watch out for rooftop guards.
Why not use plungers instead? could take the stick out and attach them to knee pads and gloves. probably more fun.
I would really life a teleporter, but alas I don't currently posses the technology to make one. I was serial about this though. I'm gonna go to the army surplus store and see if I can't find myself a grappling hook. My dreams of making it launchable and retractable I think are for nil. I could attacha pulley to it and a harness though, it would make it easier than just climbing a rope.
19 dollar grappling hook and rope that look like a piece of shit though.. i could make a real one in about 3 minutes.
u-bolts off a transport tractor would work...kinda heavy though I have some that I planned on making tow truck style J hooks for my float trailer but still havent got around to it
Like in mallrats where silent bob busts that shit out to save them. I just saw that for the first time a few days ago.
