I was just wondering if you could give me little information on how to purchase and grow a peruvian torch cactus? Any information on other cacti would be very help as well!?
If you're looking to use it's Mescaline you're better off just buying a cutting or dried skins. They grow like a foot a year (?) in prime conditions, need sandy soil.
Peruvian torch are available as live plants or seeds. Google it or look on Ebay. But, I have to agree with Geneity that cactus growing is more of a hobby for its own sake. Unless, of course you live in Arizona or some place where you can start a whole patch of it. I wouldn't want to cut up a plant I'd been growing for 5 years if I only had one of them.
You can either start from seed, or get a cutting or a seed grown cacti and go from there. Raising these cacti from seed is long but rewarding process and once they are a year or 2 old they well and are easy to care for. If you fancy learning some of the horticultural and botanical info needed come along to my mans forum ( in th signiture ) or along to www.spiritplants.org Plenty of knowledge and experience available on how to get going and how to approach it.
