Ever since I made my New Year's resolution last year, when I vowed to stop eating sweets and white bread (unless special occasion), which I surprisingly have held so far, I seem to have stoped enjoying food. I used to love to eat but nothing tastes as good as it used to. My favourite food is asian, escpecially indian and thai but now... I brought take away thai for lunch today from one of my fav resturants and I ended up throwing about half of it away. Why has this happened? I want to start enjoying it again. Only my own asian food seems to taste the same but even that I don't seem to want to eat as often... I WANT TO ENJOY FOOD AGAIN!
I have no idea... But I go through some periods where I have no appetite for anything and don't really eat anything, then I will be hungry for everything and anything...
i haven't had any asian food in ages. there's this AMAZING palestinian restaurant in denver that i get to craving fiercely. but i'll have to wait til i go back to denver. all we have here is indian fast food, which will do in a pinch, but it's not quite right.
damn i wish we had indian fast food here we have a couple restaraunts, and at least one buffet.... but i dont know of any take out or fast food
no wait theres this one place, i think, but its very far away from where i live, and i'm virtually NEVER in the area anyway i personally would like to stop enjoying food quite as much as i do. i gorge myself on a regular basis, and i eat a good bit of junk sometimes just finished my second bowl of spaghetti....for breakfast
it's a chain. like indian mcdonalds. i mean, when you're craving the greatest burger in the world, do you go to mcdonalds? ew.
yeah, but its gotta be better than going to mcdonalds or kfc or something.... i mean, i do eat my share of fast food (its ALL there is around my work....bk, mcdonalds, wendy's, kfc, arby's, and taco bell...even the "nice" restaraunts around are terrible for you...just cost more money.....bob evans....i've started taking lunch) it would be a nice change of pace in a pinch.
not necessarily healthy. didnt mean that. but a nice change of pace from fried chicken and burgers and such meant its gotta be better tasting, i'd imagine
oh, man, it totally is. but i got spoiled by my ex's family and friends. now i yearn for the good stuff.
I believe that the taste of food changing means you are deficient in something... Are you eating healthy? You said you're staying away from the bad stuff, but are you eating enough of the good stuff? It could be something else as well... I know I spent a month on a vegan diet and my tastes changed (I used to LOVE Easy Mac, but haven't been able to eat it since... also took me MONTHS to get back into drinking milk again), so it could also just be the fact that you're getting away from the more unhealthy foods and it's kind of changing your body chemistry- probably for the better. You'll find new things you enjoy eating (for instance, I developed an obsession with spaghetti when I was on the vegan diet... totally replaced my Easy Mac cravings), or you'll learn to appreciate the new ways your old favorites taste, but if you want to go back to the things you really enjoyed, you might have to start eating the junk food again... Really, though, I think you might be in a healthier place now. It's more natural. You eat to live- not live to eat. It's how we're supposed to be, though I understand that something feels like it's missing...
I think you don't enjoy food as much because you feel like you are depriving yourself. Just eat things in moderation... gradually go from white to wheat bread... you can eat sweets once in a while and it won't mess you up, just watch what you are putting in your mouth and see how its benefitting you. Like chocolate or ginger snaps are sweet but not too bad for you, they are actually good for you too ya know? So you feel deprived so nothing tastes good.. I think it makes sense.
