I take ephedra about once a week, on a day when I know I have a ton of shit to do. I know why its illigal it has a major potential for abuse. I take it and im motoring all day non stop. Im never hungry on it but I know ive got to fuel my body because this stuff turns my body into a furnace. This is my confession. Take from it what you will.
It boosts your metabolism thats for sure and it was used in fat loss stuff for a long time but because it makes your heart go like a jackrabbit I think some people died from abuse of it. If I took this stuff every day I'd loose 15lbs in a week, which isnt the healthy way of doing it. Im currently 195-200lbs.
From my understanding it's not a controlled substance, and not illegal. Many of us do things like that be it coffee or cocaine. You're just in the middle of the spectrum.
haha yeah you can buy it in small doses as a nasal decongestant. I like the idea of being middle of the spectrum. I'd hate to see what speed is like, this stuff is bordering on crazy for me, 12 hours of non stop energy and impossible to get to sleep as erzebet1961 said.
What you get as a nasal congestant is pseudo-Ephedrine, not true ephedra. Ephedra is on the banned substances list for athletes and the FDA because of it's similarites to methamphetamine. It is a MUCH better speed buzz than Pseudo Ephedrine. You can get real ephedra if you have a asian imports grocery store near you. Go there and ask for Jasmine tea, the loose leaf kind in the cans is best. It looks like it is half stems and sticks... those are ephedra The best legal speed buzz I ever found, and it won't flunk you on a urinalysis test... unless you are an athlete. It is supposed to be on the FDA's banned substances list, because of it's heart related side effects. However you can still get it at the asian grocery stores. My Vietnamese budd made me a cup of it one day and I was like DAYUM! What the hell was in that stuff? Tastes good too with a packet of sweetener in it. You can get like a 2 lb can of it for about 4 bucks and it goes a long ways. I love the stuff. I admit it, I drink it every damn day lol. I even got some silk tea bags there that tie at the top, so I can make it cup by cup.

Actualy the reason ephedra was banned was because a bunch of gym junkies would pop 10 to 20 of them and then max out on freeweights. As a result they would sometimes have heart attacks (duh) and strokes even though they were in their twenties and thirties. This was mostly ignored until one of the heart attack victums was a major league baseball player, then congress sat up and decided to ban it. All in all there have only been 187 deaths related to ephedra in all the years it was used safely by millions. It's sad really.

I dont find the comedown bad, except for not being able to sleep, but I plan about 12 hours in advance, I have to take it in the morning unless i want to be up till noon the next day. The next day I find I still have a bit of the "buzz" on but its nothing terrible. Im a bigger guy at 195lbs so I dont know if that lessens the effects a bit. Im sure i'd be racing like a jackrabbit a bit more at 150lbs.
