I suck at rolling

Hey guys... well, I have to admit, I'm reayy bad at rolling... (horrible acctually). Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone has any tips for rolling, or perhaps even some websites that can help someone improve on this tequnique?

There is a book I have seen out called "The Joint Rolling Handbook" Might be able to find it at your local headshop or other cool store. I suck horribly at rolling as well, so any tips would be awesome.

 

Umm that machine with the spacy name and you just throw your weed in, roll it around, put a paper in, roll it some more, then it comes out as a cigarette.

 

Yea, I've seen the machines.... they do work well.. but what made me think of this today was a buddy rolled a really nice one yesterday... he was able to use two papers, and when he was done, it came out looking like this wicked cone shaped doobie... I gotta say I was both humbled and impressed...

 

Back when I used to roll all the time the joint always turned out tight and smoked well but was fat in the middle.

 

No need to buy a book. Here's some pointers (passed down through generations of my pot-smoking friends families lmao):

Make sure the tree is broken up all the same density, and you want it pretty ground, not exactly powder but pretty well broken up, ALL EVENLY IS KEY!

Next spread the good stuff all across the paper

Use your pointer fingers pointed at each other horizontally to push down on the tree to make it into a cylinder. Next use your THUMBS, your thumbs are key, push down at the center with your thumb and roll, like really roll.. and as you're rolling, move out towards the edge.

PINCHING will help you a lot but is more necessary for rolling blunts. But you can use the technique on joints too, basically you use your thumbnail to push the paper back under the cylinder to get it nice and tight then you roll it. Pinching is necessary for a decent blunt.

 

That sounds fuckin' AWESOME! Like a trademark. When marijuana is legalized people can buy off you and everyone will know "Hey, that is a Sprout joint, man!"

 

Well I never thought of it like that but its not a bad idea I guess.

You could do that but dry stuff doesn't roll the same as fresh stuff so you really wouldn't be learning anything.

Rolling dry and rolling fresh are two completely differant situations.

 

another tip is to practice, after a while i started getting better and better now i can roll realy nice, i also picked up some tricks from rolling alot and seeing other people roll also my firends dad taught me a cool way to hit the joint when it side tracks so you wont wast weed untill it comes back around

 

If you're rolling fresh trees then you are making a mistake. IDK if you mean fresh as in you just took your harvest or just crappily dried/cured nugs. If stuff is so wet that it barely smokes in a pipe, you have to dry it before rolling. Forgot to mention in my post above, another key is to make sure your tree is actually ready for smoking. If the stems bend and don't break, it is not ready.

 

I used to smoke cigs and i just bought my own tobacco and papers and just kept rolling damn ciggarettes all the time.....it took mne a couple months but then i was able to rool perfect......i dont smoke cigs anymore, if you do you could try that......or just buy a rolling machine they do it perfect everytime.

 

Well if its to fresh of course you shouldn't roll it. When I said fresh I ment moist, ya know?

 

i heard in america you prefer to roll your joints without roaches, and what you call a roach is the paper at the end of a joint right which is why you have roach clips right? Well i would seriously recommend smoking through an actual roach made of cardboard. It prevents the herb from being sucked out of the joint into your mouth, it makes it easier to roll, and it gives you something to hold onto.

Good suggestion generic, we use them on fatty boombatties all the time, but when we say "make a roach" some people get confused. Roaches keep the mouth from getting soaked, they keep it open so that when it gets resinated it doesn't seal shut, and lets you smoke all of the tree almost. So many plusses. But we don't put any baccy in our shite, tobacco is marijuana's inferior brown cousin lol. The only people who do that around here are asian. Not being a bigot or anything, we have a pretty large asian population, and they all smoke like this (also people who learned to smoke from asians here smoke like this): they take out a cutting board and a big ass knife, they chop up the weed very very finely as well as the tobacco then they pack a bong that is basically like one huge hit that you're supposed to finish. Each person rigs their own shit. It's cool cause it's like a little ritual, and rituals make shit more fun for some reason heh.

 

I just use a machine. They can roll fatter than I can and is really fast.

 

come on the classic joint is better then those roach joints, the spit, the weed comeing out on your tounge some times, burning your fingers ahah
