DENVER (Reuters) - An unidentified gunman who was holding two girls hostage at a Colorado school has been captured by police, a local television station reported on Wednesday. Local KUSA-TV, citing federal sources, said that police had stormed Platte Canyon High School in Bailey, Colorado, and taken the man into custody. The station said that one of the two girls who had been held hostage may have been injured in the raid. End Now they're saying this guy shot one of the hostages, turned the gun on himself & killed himself. Yeah, right! Can't they get their alibi right? I noticed many news outlets are burying this story for the moment. It disappeared from Drudge & I couldn't find it on google news homepage anymore. But a search revealed several versions of this story. Like the one above, which has been superceded. I mean, let's say the cops burst in their with explosives (some stories say it was the cops who had the explosives others say it was the hostage taker, and some say no explosives were found - but there were explosions). So the guy freaks out, maybe he fires at them maybe he don't. But they fire back and hit him & the girl. Or maybe he was behind the girl and she got it too. So we gotta make good on this right? So we say the guy kills the girl AND himself and we can all go back to station for donuts and coffee. Just another day in America...
Sorta on/off topic... The day started w/a story of the cowgeeks' to and his 'attempted sucide'. By late afternoon there were close to a dozen versions floating about. Anyone catch the Dallas pd press release. The cop was cool. *s* It'd be Nice if all press releases were that clear/concise...
One of the main reasons why I never EVER read/watch/listen to the news. I don't trust them, if they only they could be trusted... they'd depressed me.
don't get the jump to conclusions mat out yet. sure the news agencies are all trying to break the story as fast as possible. usually they are coming out with too little of the story and are telling it before it develops. hell, one paper could have messed up, the gunman could have done it, who knows. i'm a skeptical guy myself but i like to keep all options open. the autopsy will tell us what happened.
all I gotta say is that people in colorado are crazy...... sounds like another columbine. better blame marilyn manson!
It shouldn't get so much hyped up media attention, all we are seeing now is copy cat after copy cat. School shootings are the way for crazies to get the recognition they want.
I always get interested in things like this gives you so many possibilites, so much room for the imagination to do it's magic noone will ever know what really happened now, isn't that awesome?
Its really fucked up, the media is such a fucking joke. People talk of the war days and of propaganda now with 3 second-5 second delay people have today dont have the coverup time they did long ago. Now they just fuck themselves and then later have to fuck themselves to cover the fuck up they already had. News papers are the same way, in this lil fucking town you can listen to the police scanner and hear a good bit but 99% of the real deal that goes down NEVER hits the paper.
Now you know who's in charge of the coverup! There's going to be an investigation of the incident to complete the coverup. Sounds like the guy deserved to die, but the question is: who killed the girl? In cases like this if the innocent person was killed by "friendly fire", they make sure the perp is dead so they can pin the innocent death on him. Too bad news reports containing the truth got out first.
It's so sad how police can do this shit. I know this kind of shit happens around here, I've experience it once when I got pulled over with a black kid in my car, it's pretty bad in certain areas of this city to be white driving around with someone who's black. And the police get away with murder. Poor kid, all he did was buy some powder. They let me go because they knew they were fucked.
i've driven by that school quite a few times. it's really beautiful, in gorgeous country. i'm inclined to believe that there is in fact a coverup, since quite frankly, i find anyone in a position of power totally untrustworthy and best kept at a distance. but, by the same token, people tend to toss out all kinds of theories, and in a time of stress, anyone will believe or embellish them. people are in and of themselves, completely incapable of just telling the unembellished truth.
just do some ballistic testing to figure out who shot the girl. the kid most likely didn't have the same weapon as the police....
well, if it WAS the swat team that killed the kid, the parents will sue for millions. if the gunman shot the kid, the parents will sue for millions because the swat team frightened him into doing it. who knows?
Might work that way in Theory but not in R/L. There's all sorts of civil liability immunity gotchas. Even if a suit actually reached civil trial there's still the system to beat. re: Waco Yes, it's a screwed up system we allowed to evolve...
