I said " i love you" (as a joke) and he disappeared...?

i was into this guy, kinda liked him( but we didn't know each other well)..and we used to text and flirt, he was always sweet and nice, and he used to contact me often.We were talking about a singer we both like a lot, and as we have similar taste, at some point I wrote him "i love you" (it was just a joke, I meant that I love the fact that he likes the same songs and singer that I like) He text me back "sure you do" , so he took it as a joke. Anyway he texted me that whetever I joke it's too mean. And I explained him that I love the fact he loves my favorite singer. We kept texting that day, but then he has never contacted me again. Well...it's OK, I'd wanted to know him better, but anyway it's OK that's not the problem...i olny want to know if, in your opinion, he disappeared because I said "i love u",?
anyway, before all this happened, he had asked me how do i feel about him, and i told him. (so he should knew that i wasn't in love with him)

 

I'm not sure what advice to give except to just stay single. :2thumbsup: You dont need to worry about this sorta stuff.

There could be a lot of reason's he's just dissapeared; he might've mentioned the fact that you wrote 'I love you' in a txt to a few mate's and they got in his ear or something.

Actually remind's me of my ex-boyfriend. We'd been dating a few week's when out of the blue he just goes, "guess what?" I say what? He look's at me with this real sappy sorta expression and goes, "I love you." After a few week's! So I said... "I... really like you too."

HAHA how awkward is that?? We were alright, I just explained to him that I liked him alot at the time, but I definately wasn't ready to say I loved him.

If this guy's going to be so stupid as to just ignore you after a simple misunderstanding like that, I say he's probably not worth your time, hun.

And out of curiosity, who was the singer?

That's most likely why he stopped communicating with you. The "sure you do," could have been him testing the waters, and when you didn't respond in the way he wanted, he decided to move on.

I meant that maybe he liked you, and he wanted some sort of conformation that you liked him (perhaps not loved). Maybe it hurt his ego that you didn't reciprocate (even in a flirty manner) after he responded, so he went away then came up with some story about personal shit or whatever.

Again though, just speculating. If he was really that spooked by you saying it, he wouldn't go away, make up some story about personal shit, then come back. He'd stay away for fear that you're too clingy.

- he would continue to text you if he did in fact like you
- he obviously just wanted a shag and maybe thought you had feelings for him (because in his head at least he is a master playa of course)
