I got it at the chinese grocery and it said it was made that day. I liked the texture alot. It was more dense and just tasted fresh. Plus, you do not have to press it. So, if you have chinese grocery in your town, I recommend trying it. Plus, at least the one by me, they have alot of vegetarian mock meats that you never find at places like Whole Foods
seems health food stores will usually have a locally made tofu. i've tried a few of them and yes, they do usually have a denser quality to them than the mass produced tofus. i haven't been to my local asian foods market yet. i've heard good things about their vegetarian foods selection though.
made it once, the difference was astonishing too much work to do it again, sadly . . . [no asian markets for hundreds of miles]
i love tofu very much but it seems that I can't find a Chinese grocery here in our town. I've been looking for a fresh tofu every time I go for grocery but I can't hardly find. Actually there are a lot of tofu but the quality is not good enough.
