It's the fucking pledge. Why give a shit? I mean, when you were a kid, did you really give a shit about the pledge? Hell no, every kid hates saying the pledge. Therefore, it's going to have shit-for-effect on about 90-95% of the kids.

The real danger is what the government fools adults into thinking.

People make a big deal over stupid shit when there is a lot more important things to worry about. If people don't want to say the pledge, they don't have to. I am not in school anymore, so I really don't think about it much.

Well, there is a difference between patriotism and blind patriotism. And "god" really is not related to patriotism, which is what your thread was about. Not the pledge in general.

And the definition of paranoia is unfounded fear. My fear is never unfounded since I do research before coming to conclusions.

It's funny that they put "under God" in the pledge, since it says in the christian bible not to give your allegience to any nation.

 

actually, i never stated what this thread was about. i just "said" the pledge and then talked about it.. my thoughts....

i just think that the pledge HELPS to brain wash a lot of americans. and the lyrics are kinda sick.

I said the pledge every day in school and I'm not braindead. Are you? It didn't influence me at all. I just knew that in the morning we had to stand up, put our hand over our hearts and say some bullshit words.


We only said the pledge until about fifth grade anyways.

 

The television brainwashes people too, but nobody is protesting against that.

I agree that blind patriotism is VERY brainwashing. I just wish more people would realize that they are bombarded by propaganda every time they turn on the television, whether they realize it or not.
