Well obviously in a third person game you will want to pick a slim female character. As a bulky male character will take up more screen and block more views. That is of course the only reason.
On a new game I'd usually choose a female character, not because I have a secret desire to be female. On the contrary, I just choose a female character because I enjoy looking at the female form! A bit of eye candy.
i play non-human characters in table top dice and rule book role playing games, especially those in which most if not all player characters are sapient people from other or alternative worlds. i play to explore alien imagined worlds, but i also want to be able to build, within the context, and as part of, the shared adventure of the game. all that winning and loosing of battles crap is to me totally "meh". and yach, i know, that seems to be what most players and game creators insist on being about, which is the reason i hardly ever, find anyone who is interested in what interests me in simulation play, so generally i only solo play. just me as my character and a universe full of nipics. i'd love for there to be other pc's, but i can never find them who would rather build houses and bridges then get into rowdy drunken altercations with either authority figures or whatever innocent creatures they can find that just happen to be bigger then they are. really gender is just, doesn't often have much reason to enter into it. so really i guess you could say what i play is basically generless.
