Hello all. I have some questions regarding financing as far as transitioning goes. How does one go about saving up such a mass sum of money? I have just turned 18, and have not yet started hormone therapy but I am looking into it and I know what I have to do as far as that goes. Right now I am living with my mother and am also jobless only because I do not have transportation to work currently, but that will be changing within the next couple months. So lets say that I start hormone therapy, and get a job at some minimum wage paying fast food franchise. Ok that's a start.. I only have a GED so do you think going to college would really be worth it? I really only care about fully transitioning and looking the best possible physically. As far as an occupation goes I don't care what the hell it is as long as it pays well... So now I'm gonna tell you my big rough and tough goals. I want to save up enough money for laser hair removal.. which I think will be the easiest.. After that I want to save up enough money for full facial feminization surgery..which I would assume will be the hardest since it ranges anywhere from 30 grand to 60 grand.. and finally sexual reassingment surgery.. which I believe on average is around 10 grand. My goal is to have all of this done within the next 4-6 years. Does this plan sound realistic?? I know I won't have to pay for rent or anything or food, my mother is very supportive. I just want advice as far as planning it all out... financially mostly. I know it takes small steps but I am a very ambitious individual and I like to plan things thoroughly. This is one of the first things in a long time that I have had to ask for advice with.. that's how I know it is so real and powerful. Please anyone with experience, give me that advice.
    Thankyou all =)

the ten grand for the SRS would definitely be reasonable after 4-6 years of work. the rest of what you're asking I'm not so sure. 30 grand isn't as big a number as 60 grand but still a lot and you haven't specified how much the laser hair surgery is. judging by that I'm guessing it's a minimal amount but 40 grand which according to you si the bare minimum for what you want is still a lot of money. if you realize that working in whatever job you have in mind isn't going to give you enough then you can always put a bit of money in the bank and allow it to accumulate interest. it''s not much money but it's still money and every cent counts. probably not the best at giving advice but you need to make sure you make at least ten thousand a year forall of this which is about 850$ a month (very rough estimate. it's late so my mind isn't functioning well)

You should save money up for a trip to Thailand...way cheaper from what I have heard.

As far as a job, well, college takes too long =P

I'm in the same bind as you kinda, except I don't have supportive parents. I'd advise trying to get a certification of some kinda. It could take anywhere from 3 to 6 months. There is a 4 part course I am thinking about taking, and according to my "employer", I could be making around $30 /hr after 4 classes. As for being jobless, well, from my experience, nobody wants to hire a tranny. Sucks for them and the trannies. If you pass yourself as a male at work, you'll get a lot less heat from that. Also the best way to get a job is to get the job through somebody you know, such as your parents and relatives. If they aren't understanding, say you are saving up for College or something =P.
