what kinds of places would you recommend me to work at? I used to be a waitress/hostess, and once i worked at taco bell. theres really not much selection in this fuckin city.. i dont really want to be a waitress, but i'd do that before i work at a grocery/clothing store or something. And also, what kindsa jobs automatically drug test? I had to pretend to fill out a lowes application today cos im sure that they do..lol one of their first questions is 'how much crack do you smoke' hahah the jobs i actually am considering/hoping for so far would be game stop, a cashier at this little chinese restaurant, and a gas station. i'd like to bartend but i dont have any experience and its hard to find a place that will train ya..
Is the job a means to an end or a career choice? If a career choice...I'd say pick one that has a decent training scheme for their staff...so probably the bigger stores. I'm thinking the chinese place won't have any.
Might wanna enquire at your local headshops.. theyd be more or less guaranteed not to test And if you're willing to travel, I gots a 'job' for ya
Do offices cleaning, it's so easy pulling a little trash dusting vacuuming, maybe cleaning 2-3 bathroom at the most, and places like that don't drug test, I had a few cleaning jobs and they never drug tested
If you can get a job at a headshop, do so, because it's a hella fun job. I have an interview at a fried chicken place tomorrow. Zaxby's, to be exact. Nobody on here seems to know what Zaxby's is though lol
Zaxby's is the shizz. I'm surprised you know about it, when people on here who live in the US don't even know what it is.
If you have experience as a waitress/hostess, then I'd say just try to find a job doing something like that. There are tons of restaurants around, I'm sure one of them are hiring.
if you can, try and get a job in a record shop (independant). you might never get another chance cos they're all being closed due to competition by big chains and mp3 downloads. if you can still find one, i garuntee that you'll never find a more chilled place to "work" at. you have to know your music, and youll probably be tested on your knowledge by the owner, but you'll NEVER be tested for drugs. just sit around listening to awesome music all day and getting free promotional tickets to see crappy indie and punk bands. its a good life
I just got laid off a week ago & even though I have a college degree for now as well as looking for an actual career type job I've been looking for a summer job like landscaping or something just so I can make some $. My sister who is in college has been home since the beginning of May & still hasn't found anything. It sux a dick out there looking 4 a job. So for right now just apply for pretty much anything that you wouldn't wanna kill yourself after working there for about 2 days.
I would recommend you go apply to be a waitress at every restaurant you know.. you're good looking so you move to the top of the list whether you have experience or not... 95% of restaurants DO NOT drug test.. unless its like a corporate chain... plus that's money you get to take home every night.. and then still get somewhat of a check come pay day..
not to kick you while you're down.. but you are the ones i laugh my ass off because kids in college all have this mentality "once i graduate and get my degree.. im going places"... and you know how many kids i've seen that spent $1000s of dollars on secondary education that are either pulling factory jobs or workin in a restaurant.. or jobless... McDs.. i lul at everyone of them... sure while you go to college and work on your degree for 4-6years.. thats 4-6years of solid work experience i have under my belt
