People start 'reciting' forum guidelines to other people. It's like they always follow all the guidelines and are therefore the keeper of rules. I'm just curious to see who here really thinks that they have never broken fora guidelines. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
I haven't a clue what the forum guide lines even are. They're probably listed, but I've never paid attention
That is just what I was going to say. Besides, if I do break a rule I'm sure someone will tell me all about it so why waste my time learning them.
Forum Posting Guidelines The following rules are for everyone's benefit. While we don't censor the forums, we want to keep them full of quality postings, and don't want to waste people's time with postings of NO VALUE. You must agree to these conditions to become a member (check below to agree to these terms). Illegal Postings: Postings that are illegal, such as Child Pornography, drug dealing or other illegal activities, images or information are not allowed. You accept full responsibility for what you post as we cannot be held liable for the activities of others on our sites. We will cooperate with the authorities should they investigate your illegal activities on our sites. Remember, Big Brother is watching everything on the Internet! Duplicate/Repetitive Postings: Duplicate postings with identical or similar text are not allowed. Click only ONCE on the submit button, and your posting will appear. A new page will load showing your posting. This is your confirmation that it has been posted! Do not resubmit a posting that has been verified!!! Duplicate postings will be removed. Multiple Personalities: Although we allow you to register multiple personalities, you may not use more than one personality in a single thread. Flaming/Trolling: Flames are posts intended to insult and provoke. Posters who speak incessantly and/or rabidly on some relatively uninteresting subject or with a patently ridiculous attitude will be banned. Repeated posts directed with hostility at a particular person or group of people or their beliefs will be cause for banning. Any individual who chronically trolls, who regularly posts arguments, flames or personal attacks for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion will be banned. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that they have no real interest in learning about the topic at hand - they simply want to utter flame bait. Obscene/Pornographic/Violent postings: Unless these contribute something useful to the discussions, they will be deleted. Off Topic Postings: Often people post remarks that have nothing to do with the subject of the forum. These will be moved or deleted at the discretion of the moderator. Spamming: Those who come here and post numerous links to other commercial websites, forums, chatrooms or communities, without actually contributing any content to this website will be banned without notice. It's fine to post an occasional interesting link to another website, in the context of a thread's subject, but to only do that or to do it repeatedly is not allowed. If you have your own website, you can put the URL in your profile and a link will be posted to your site in every post you make so there is no reason to add it to your posts or signature. Banning: People who violate these forum guidelines repeatedly are subject to banning. Once someone has been banned from the site, we don't not allow complaints about it. Once banned, we are done with that individual, and no amount of complaining from other members will help. We don't need to justify our bans. This only causes more work for the moderators. Which is usually the reason for the person being banned in the first place. So those who complain about a banishment, are subject to being banned themselves. Status: When you first signup to the HipForums you are our guest and as long as you respect our rules you will become a full member after your 100th post. Until then you have more restrictions than our members, in that some forums are only available to full members. Those who have chosen to join our community and support what we stand for will be granted full membership. Members who abuse their status may see it changed back to Guest as a warning that their behavior is unnacceptable. Further abuse will lead to banning. Other than these restrictions, people are free to post whatever they choose. This is a FREE SPEECH site and we respect people's right to have their say. Let's all just be civil about it! Please let us know ASAP if there are any postings that violate these guidelines, especially if they offend you! We need to know the Forum, the Subject, and the Poster, and the URL if possible. Report Forum Violations P.S. Please read our Privacy and Copyright statement! What you post in these forums may be published by us in other formats! Hip Inc. is not responsible for lost data or images due to any cause. So always save your work on your own computer if you wish to keep it permanently. Please acknowledge your acceptance or rejection of these guidelines. If you agree, you'll be taken to the member registration page. The HipForums reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
atleast I can count on you to threaten me in my polls still. everybody else seems to actually vote in them these days
i posted a guideline once and only once.... to make a point that it wasnt just me asking something i mean seriously repeatily going off topic in threads and having four page long conversations with people- espiecially in a thread of someone that you dont get along with is really just rude. there are plenty of other ways to have long conversations on here. anyways get over it.
I'm sorry, I'm going to have to ask you to stay on topic and answer the question. This is not about things that have happened in other threads. This is about whether or not you have ever broken guidelines. Staying on topic would be appreciated.
I have broken the guidelines... sometimes on purpose, because it sux that particular ones exist, and sometimes I broke the *unwritten rule of the forums*, and there's been once or twice that I broke a guideline that I didn't know existed.
No that doesn't really happen to me. I get trolls that spew at me and make complaint spam but other than that it's pretty cool lol. I broke a forum guideline before without meaning to do it. I wrote thesame post in two rooms so that I could get a better response. (That's a no np lol.) I actually wrote that the post was in another room and the mod for that room wrote me a nice letter and told me that I couldn't do that. (She was nice about it though.) Since then I don't do it anymore.
I thought you didn't go into his threads? (Just making a point) anyhow I'm sure I break the rules but not enough to get into trouble.. .yet
^yeah i know but this was an exception because i was pretty sure it was about me reciting a guideline to him earlier that day. and even when someone is on ignore you can coast over the first post in a thread and read it so i just felt like saying that. oh well. i TYPICALLY dont go in his threads.
I go off topic, but really only in RT, which is an off-topic kind of place....being random and all....
