So the other day was my first time visiting a proper abandoned huge building!!! Its called Glyde Court, a dutchess used to live in it?? Im not really sure of its history actually, I'll do some research.. But for now, here are some pictures
we had a place like that down by the barrage a few years ago... it was restored and is now a very posh restaurant however i went in there when it was abandoned as a kid and fell through a hole in the floor - lucky i didn't really hurt myself. was fun to explore though.
It felt really spooky, even during the day.. it wasnt windy at all and one of the doors slammed shut freaky.. pretty cool tho.. I definitely want to explore more places like this . This one in particular was only 10 minutes away from me!
I'd love to see this place restored!! its huge!! yeah you were lucky, I was scared upstairs, i hardly moved, most of the wood was rotting away !
that was the problem, rotted wood... we had to climb in through a second story window up some scaffolding silly bastards we were here it is, anyways - it's a shame i couldn't find a picture of it before the restoration.
oooh its gorgeous!! good thing they restored it, such a waste otherwise, even tho they do look pretty cool haha
it looked a lot like your first picture once... it is a very pretty building shame this one is right next to it (you can see the custom house on the right hand side in the picture) this place is fun to go inside also
The second to last picture you posted lynzxx, is alluring for some reason. But that place all around looks so full of ghostly vanity. The wind blows through and is scared of it's own whispering echoes.
They are good for people like us to explore. . The smell of bat shit and rotting wood, black mold, dank must, someone's old fifth bottle, the smell of piss, the bum creeping behind you....
I like exploring old buildings myself. In my years, I've looked through many deserted places. I was once on a retreat in Italy. Me and a couple of people went on a hick. We discovered an old abandoned monastery. It was awesome exploring it's inner chambers.
theyre freaky inside tho i'd never ever go alone!! I felt like i was being watched, i could feel ghosts. !! this one isnt too bad with bottles or old bums .. because its not close to a town, and you have to walk threw a wheat feild to get to it !too much effort for an aul bum !!
pretty scary, theres a Blair Witch atmosphere emanating from these pics:leaving: walking in those buildings i'd be scared something fell on me
my boyfriend walked upstairs, and i was right underneath him, and pieces of the ceiling started falling on me, i nearly died!!!! so i start screaming at him hahaha he gave me a fright tho!!!!
Lucky with your nice architecture . In America the idea of similiarity took over too soon. But still, I live in a rural area, alot of old school houses and barns around. One time my friends and I found an old farmhouse with a pipe sticking out of the ground. Water was still spewing out of it, and it looked relatively clean. It has probably been going like that for 20 years.
