    why??

ok iam feelin sorta down today, and i know why, i see all this pain and suffreing in the world, its like i feel mother earth weeping over everything. it makes me sad, the goverment is tearing down more trees to build things, that really upsets me, the land is all we have, how can we show fututre genrations the land, if its not there.

we need to stand up against the man, boldy give the man a middle finger, and say enougth is enough., we the people are now speaking, is this not a democrocy?? when do we the people get to run the country, like its supposed to be, we got this crazy texan who thinks hes a sheriff in office, making all thease stupid decisons, were losing not only our own people but others, are dying for a cause , that dont make sence to me. we dont need to kill others over oil, or fight over money. uncle sam give up the greed, let the green pastures grow again, let us hear the tree frogs sing us a song goodnight, let us see the sun rise and sun set on the rivers, lakes, creeks, streams, and oceans.

i think they should just tear down everything, and let nature take place again. then let everyone live in love and harmony with the earth, this is my dream, this is my heartsong. i see all this bad stuff going on, and as i said its like i feel the earth weeping over whats been done. mother earth, nature has been blessed us with this place to live. and how do people thank her, by cutting down her trees, and destroying the land, polluting the air?? it makes me sick, and makes me cry.

i just wish we could go back to our true roots, and live off the earth, and not destroy it.

i love u all, but iam very sad right now, with everything thats going on, anyone else sad??

    loving ya'll

    spread the LOVE

THIS is from my blog, iam just posting it everywhere to get more people to see it, casuse i know iam not the only one feelin like this

itoofeltit, just 2 days ago, iwoke up fromthe craziest nightmare.. we were walking through the site of this years gathering, just going backto revisit..when we came acroos a huge house beingbuilt..and a road that hadnt beenthere..at 1st ithought..what a nice place tolive..but as we hiked further down this new road we came across more houses being built..then we came into what was main meadow..&there were construction workers everywhere, dozens of thesze huge houses being built..mansions really..there was alsoa factory spewing toxins intothe air..& these huge pipes going deepintothe earth..there were reporters as well.. praising the "progress" and..behind them mostof the mountain had been blasted away to make a quary..ijustfell tomyknees..screamming atthem..how could they so coldlyjustdestroy suchbeauty....i woke up withmy heartpounding..& a rage ..& fear..like id never felt
iagree we should let nature take her course..letthe weeeds pushupthroughthe cracks inthe sidewalk letthe streets & parking lots returnto feilds &trails. we have gone too far from a naturalexistance ..we have weakened ourselves as a species tothe point that our very survival is almost entirely dependent on chemicals & technology..instead of living withinnatures natural rythems, we shelter ourselves fromit.. but my freinds..there will come a time..&soon..when allthat technology&chemistry will not protect threm from our mothers fury..& the only waytosurvive will be to live in harmony withher....some may find that a scarythought..but, is it really that bad a thing if those who are destroying the earth suddenly died off? if the governments crumbled under theyre own curruption & ceased toecxist so we could all live together inharmony?...yea theymay stinkawhile, but with alittle effortthey'd make greatfertalizer..so like the previos posted suggested..burry those shits..& plant some trees :)

Well I think Im gonna get hate mail and ect but alot of people out here seem to enjoy alot of "the mans" offerings. They want his monthly check, his medical car, to use his streets ect. So seems stickin a middle finger to "the man" is in a way wanting to bite the hand the feeds some.

It is easy to protest "bitch" but offering and following with a valid alternative is another.

Im not against ya there guy just seems yor speech fell short, you might desire to add solutions to what you dislike so that there is not just another rant.

Here here on the "escaping the system" speech. Easy enough to say fuck the system when you have all the goodies it provides. But some of us do say fuck the system knowing full well what that would entail, and still willing to go there...

Ah, solutions. I've seen many come here complainin' 'bout things, and I be one of them. If we had a real solution, just add water and fixed, we would surely let everyone in on it. Promise. But sometimes the rant and the kinship of others feelin' the pain IS the only solution there is for the moment.

yaya , an angel come to me and flew me off to the highest mountain . i just looked around at the suffering in all the earth and wept , wept , wept . then that angel opened a book , a massive book - and directed me to look , and there on the page i saw that i had signed-up to help the suffering tho really i didn't remember doing so .

what have i ever done to oblov this great suffering ?

foom ... not so mindful at all
the whatever's i'm doing about that
as being anything as peculiar particuliar
    .

this seems most ranbO . that is , after the weeping comes
a strength of will that with little objectifing
is diffuse , and most simply generous .

Got most of the peppers picked, rain movin' in (Thanks to ______ [fill in your choice]). Just out crusin' around the ole forums and came across this discussion. I must say, it's not new but I think it's still totally valid.

Call it what you will, the "man", the "system", the government, all the above, or whatever... parts of it are doing a lot of stuff we don't like, but other parts are helping some folks. Why is this? In the humble opinion of this old hippie, life, the universe, everything is a set of compromises, trade-offs, with almost nothing totally good or bad. That doesn't mean it's all set in stone - it can be changed, re-mixed. The bad and harmful reduced in order to increase the good. Example - "they" have spent over $300,000,000,000 in/on Iraq. Imagine if that had been spent on education, health care and/or low cost housing.

In my opinion, there is a solution and a couple times I've suggested it before around these forums. It won't be quick, it won't be easy. The problems there are didn't happen over night and they're deeply rooted. And every time I've suggested this solution some folks have put the idea down without offering an alternative. I don't know why that is... maybe some folks would rather continue sitting & bitching instead of getting off their asses and working. I hate thinking that, "hippies" not wanting to get involved in correcting problems.

So anyhow... here's my not easy, not quick suggested solution:

The answer should be that we all get out to the polls and vote for change. The problem is, as I see it, there are few, if any, to vote FOR. Plenty to vote against. Again, as I see it, the Democrats nor Republicans (or as I call them - the Dummy-crats and Repugnant-ones) are unlikely to offer choices we can vote FOR. I think they are two sides of the same coin, when what is needed is a whole new form of currency. We need to move in and take over a political party or more likely, start a new one. Then we need to get "some of our own" elected.

Yes, that's right, I'm suggesting that hippies get together, form a political party, and not only get out and vote, but some of us need to get out there and be someone to vote FOR. My suggestion continues... to start with (for the first few years) we not consider the office of President or even the U.S. Senate. Maybe some state & local offices, but mostly the U.S. House of Representatives. Consider this, the House is where ALL U.S. government spending starts - steer the spending to alter the course of government action. And it wouldn't require a majority control of the House. Look at how close so many votes are in the House. If we could get 45 "of our own" elected, that'd be about 10%, it would be possible to start real change. And if we can't, then we are truly very much in the minority and the majority IS in charge.

Well, that's my opinion and suggestion.

    Peace,

Pardon any bad spelling please, here is my solution... 1st things 1st.Do away with the electoral college and go to popular vote, i know its a lot of votes to count but thats where technology comes in..bush did not win by popular vote and some others didnt as well. then we need someone worth voting for....

want to change things?, change the system....

ps. waitin to see ya in ocala Stony, lovin you bro..

on thursday I went to a protest against bush and his agendas. there was poetry and chants going on. we were saying, "Bush won't listen, congress must act. give us our rights to practice our democracy!"ironically, the "homeland security" burgaid were called in. we were a peaceful group proclaiming peace! why didn't these natzis go to where they're needed; like west or north philly (worse areas of the city)?

Yeah, the electorial college needs to go. Without it, there would have been a runoff, Gore would probably have gotten most of the Nadar voters. We'd have President Gore and a different world.
When you're listing why Bush is in the White House, don't forget the people who voted for Nadar in Florida. If even 10% of them had voted for Gore, the world, past & future, would be different. That's less than 1000 people. I doubt if the fate of the world was ever decided by fewer people.

    2000 results:
    U.S. FL.
    Gore..50,999,897.....2,912,253
    Bush..50,456,002.....2,912,790
    Nadar..2,882,955.........97,488

I also think there should be a limit on how long Supreme Court judges serve. Maybe 15 years or something.

But getting the two U.S. Constitution Amendments through Congress and ratified by enough state legislatures, without having 'some of our own' in Congress etc.... well, I don't see how it can happen, does anyone else?

    Peace,
    poor_old_dad
