Enlightenment is actually so utterly insane and crazy, and so far past what most people would deem schizophrenia that... you just don't talk about it...
Enlightment is insane and crazy? i dont really understan what your saying, Can you elaborate a little more
I would say enlightenment is a little, clear, timeless center of the soul that is surrounded by insanity and confusion that normally passes for routine human thought and living. words are futile becuz they are what we use when we are in our detached state, attempting to describe the center. but when you are the center, words become as useless as trying to describe the flavor of honey. you don't describe the honey, you just give someone a taste.
enlightenment is a state of awareness an enlightened individual must communicate or they are not doing their part although i believe that we can communicate without words, at this point most of us need words to communicate. in other words know one wants to be like someone they dont know and how can you know someone who will not communicate with you? the world could be a better place and all we have to do is talk about it
sounds like you are describing a deep state of meditation although i feel meditation is a wonderful thing to do regularly, i am sure we can all agree that a life of constant meditation is not much of a life if we were meant to be in that state all of our lives we would not have bodies, we would be spirits the fact that we have a body suggests that we have a life to live
enlightment is just an abstract concept that tries to convey an experience... if you're thinking in terms of enlightened/unenlightened you'll just spend the rest of your life chasing concepts inside your own mind (and thats not what enlightenment is about).
a life of constant meditation is an awesome life! constant meditation = constant mindfulness = more awareness = more consciousness meditation doesn't mean sitting in a quiet dark room, any action you do can be meditation as long as you do it with mindfulness. i do somewhat agree with the last part of your statement though. most spiritual traditions try to make us feel shameful about the the "lower" levels of self (mind and/or body). in reality though we're here on this earth and we are all part of nature, to fully fulfill our intended role all three aspects of ourselves need to function in unison. but it's the mind and the body that will often distract us from our roles and it is only through constant meditation (constantly being aware of what we are doing and why) that we can hope to fully function.
I think that our mortal life and daily mind can be compared to a nylon rope containing many threads. most people accept the fixed nature of it and its functions. but for those who find a way to unravel the rope thread by thread, they see that each strand is its own notion, activity, dream, whatever it may be, and is its own respective "thing". at that point you see each thread as one of infinitely possible threads to be bound together to comprise the self and one can choose which threads to bind back together. an additional helping of other more desirable threads can be infused into the whole at the ropemaker's whim. I pretty much made that up as I went along but YKWIM
when i go out for a walk i say im going for a walk i dont say im going for a meditation unless i plan to stop along the way to sit and meditate although yoga is a form of meditation when someone does yoga they usually do not say they are meditating
but that's the thing... you don't have to sit in the lotus for it to be meditation. check out what the definition of meditation is: 1.to engage in thought or contemplation; reflect. 2.to engage in transcendental meditation, devout religious contemplation, or quiescent spiritual introspection. you can meditate while going about all your daily tasks. it's not something you have to sit down and close your eyes for. if you're really interested in meditation i'd reccoment a book called "the miracle of mindfulness" by zen master thich nhat hanh. it's a very easy read that will take you through the basics of meditation and teach you how to incorporate it into all your daily tasks.
It's true... Once I reach a certain point into a trip, words fail me and I just hope a substantial amount of the experienced shall be salvaged by my memory!
if you had to go into lower metaphorical constructs, I guess it would be realizing, there really isn't a single difference between physics and metaphysics.
I sort of know what you mean. Recently I was sort of propelling forward to high levels of awareness. I had some experiences. It got so far that I had to stop though. I had no emotional responses, my family thought I was bipolar, and was having depersonalization issues. Which to be honest it totally possible who really knows? I surrendered control back to the ego. At least for now, I guess...
But I don't think anyone can explain it to each other. That's just the way it works. It's a personal thing. Some people try to capture their thoughts and shit, but what's the point? Just let it happen when it's there. LSD is the coolest shit on Earth!!!
Enlightenment, as it's called, isn't even worth talking about. We can sit here and put words on each others' screens all day talking about how everything is comprised of nothing, the duality of the universe, the lack of need for duality, physics, metaphysics, who's done the most acid or why animals are smarter than us. None of this is going to bring anyone enlightenment. Words just are not going to do it, written or verbal. Enlightenment is taught in the timeless language of action. Ghandi had it right - "Be the change you want to see in the world." And just to make it clear - none of us are enlightened. If we were, we would be living in the woods. I agree that many of us are on our way, but none have reached it.
after my first time for about 3 - 4 months afterwards i just felt like i "knew" like.. i just knew.. i still feel like i know, but not so much now, as my first trip was like 7 or 8 months ago, but i still feel it. you know? (i just re-read what i wrote, and i don't mean it in any kind of sarcastic manner, i mean it, and you should know)
the point is your own personal reference. of course the magic of the experience won't be infused in your words for anyone to fully appreciate, but I like to write everything I can after a trip. after a while and the experience fades, what I wrote restores a lot of what I felt slipped away. I do it online because I like to read others' words and I figure there might be someone like me out there that likes reading trip reports. I don't presume that full meaning is delivered. my trip reports are like personal scripture to me. if my house burned down, I wouldn't care about any other texts that are spiritually oriented, just my trip stories. but since I put them online I can read them anywhere there's a computer. it doesn't need to be words; that's just my preferred medium. trippers should remind themselves by whatever means they find efficient. painting, drawing, music, etc. like-minded souls are more likely to get some of the message through their preferred media. and so what if people post about duality, quantum physics, etc? no one's really trying to convince anyone else. we just seem to undergo similar revelations on acid, and since we're different, the output is different. the fire is the same, but the kindling varies and gives off smoke of different colors and scents.
I do live in the woods! I bought an acre of woods, chopped some down with an ax, and built a house! But I'm not claiming to be "enlightened." What does it even mean? It's just a momentary peacefulness.... you can't expect it to last forever.
