I just moved to norcal, can anyone tell me what there is to do?

i now live in yuba county, just north of sacramento, and i don't know anyone aside from my aunt and uncle who i came up here to live with. i've applied for a few jobs and i'm going to take some classes at the local community college, but i'm having seeeerious trouble finding locals that aren't conservatives and hilbillies. not that those people are wrong, just not my cup of tea.
i guess what i'm asking is, are there any places i can go or websites i can check out to help me find friends and/or activities i enjoy? i've tried craigslist and okcupid but they just aren't returning the results i've hoped for. uhhh, help? :daisy:
