I just didn't pay my credit card bill earlier this month even though I could because I am weird

So they started calling me non-stop and I just didn't answer for a few days, because i am weird

Then just now I decided to, and the balance was 1,700 dollars, the minimum was 150 or something.

So I said i would pay the total amount, and she replied it was 150 dollars, and I said I will pay the full balance off and I think she fell out of her chair

    Done and Done

That seems like a high interest rate and past due amount. Wells Fargo does Mastercard?

Good for you for paying it off in full. I don't have that kind of money. Musicians must be rich!!!

Doesn't not paying off your credit cards on time appear on your credit history?

My step-brothers business needed to take a big loan out of the bank in order to expand, and the bank almost rejected it because he had a late credit card payment a couple of years ago.

Ha, I don't make much from music, I do consulting

It is Mastercard, it was 94 dollars minimum payment, 60 dollars past due

Kind of a sick little business they have :p

I'm just curious. I would love to have a credit card, but getting one as a foreigner here is like throwing yourself into the jaws of interest rate.

Building credit seems extremely easy as long as you keep a job and don't buy a bunch of useless shit with your card.

It is easy if you are smart about it, Pavel, and you would be. Just keep aware of what you use it for.

there are all different kind of consultants. It just means you are hired to help out in a specific area.

I mostly do project management consulting, where you organize project resources, make project plans and schedules etc.....but I also do it mostly in manufacturing in the USA, so maybe someday I will have to make a career change:D

I have noticed with places being very short staffed, and me being fairly bright, that I have been able to come in and do odd jobs not project related just to ease their workload

I love when I rid myself of debt like that. I owe a couple hundred on one credit card and owe for my laptop we bought in June.....that has already died on me:(

Just buy reasonable things you could pay off. When you pay the entire balance off on time there is no interest charged.

I moved to California once and was very poor, that set me off into credit card debt.

but I still really don't care, this world is illusion:rolleyes:

Ah, okay I see. Are you mostly your own boss? The organizational aspects appeal to me...and its handy to be a Jack of all trades!

sucks about your laptop!! I hate how they just screw up on you...

Currently I owe a little over 1000 on my credit card. I am making that every two weeks now, so I am considering forking over my entire next paycheck to it, though I always meet the payment requirements.

Yeah, well if you do freelance type stuff. But then you wont have a benefits package unless you work for a consulting firm

But I imagine even working a firm is more independent than a standard job

I am, but I am not. I am still at the mercy of other people who hire me on, and I want to do my best because they are under no obligation to keep me occupied, so it helps to be likeable and do things as they want them.

But yea, if I don't have something I need to do, I don't wake up at 8 am

It makes most people nervous, but if I can even work 15-20 hours a week I am in good shape....for me anyways

I just live with the fact that things can go away at any moment, and I save money

My step-dad has done a good job at drilling all that damn practical knowledge into my head.

Credit debt is pretty much irrelevant when you're poor though, no one seems to care too much.
