I judge people

based on their taste in music. Is that fucked up of me?

Do you mean you categorize people according to their musical tastes? Sometimes you can kind of do that. Most people I know have very eclectic taste in music and they go into the super-interesting-person category.

I'll elaborate. I was facebook stalking this boy today, who I fancied verryyyy much for a very long time (throughout high school and stuff).. and he posted a video of a song that was just really bad. The band sort of sounded like a mix between Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu, and just sucked. I don't even feel like I have a crush on him anymore. Just because of one song.

If you get your identity from the music you listen to, and judge people based on what your tastes are you're just stereotyping yourself.

 

I hate music.
Don't get me wrong, I like some song lyrics (including the song lyrics in my signature), but I just like to read them. I hate noise, and music is an unnecessary noise. I hate most sounds in general, I keep all the sounds on my computer on mute, I keep my television muted and prefer to read the close captioning and I keep the radio off in my car at all times. Music is annoying as fuck

 

This thread is kind of a joke anyway. I mean, I have friends who listen to lil wayne and all around gay shit. I'm still friends with them.

Wow, that is crazy. I only ever met one other person in my life who didn't like music, and that was because he liked sports so much that he said he only listened to sports radio in his car, he could care less about anything else.

I wonder why you hate noise so much? God you'd hate living in my house. I live with THE LOUDEST human beings ever. lol

 

There are 7 people in my house, they're loud as fuck and I'm constantly yelling at them to shut the fuck up and be quiet
They're unnecessarily loud, practically yelling at each other when they're standing next to each other
I just really don't like noise, I don't like repetitive sounds, I don't like most other peoples voices and I don't like the opportunity music provides you to think or the memories it conjures
No thanks whatsoever, fuck music

 

How can you not like music? I have never heard this before.

And by the way noise and music are not the same thing. Noise is sound that you don't control like finger nails on the chalkboard. Music has thousands of varieties.

To say you don't like music....its as bad as the time i met a guy who says he doesn't like water and refuses to drink it.....

 

I don't have any hearing issues or disabilities. I just don't like music, I never have. I mean, I know songs just from being like in the car growing up and from being subjected to watch movies, but now that I have my own car my radio never comes on. I've never been a fan of music, and don't get me wrong, I've tried to find music that I enjoy, but it's simply impossible. I can get maybe through half of a song before I get annoyed and irritated and have to turn it off.

 

You have no experience in listening because i guess at one point something turned you off and now you refuse to give it another try? You shut a door to a great world, put a master lock on it, and bought a pair of ear plugs. Something like that.

Why is it hard to believe that someone doesn't like music? I don't really care for noises or sounds, and all music is to me is just a bunch of whiny folk, and I think people who really care about music as much as some people claim are completely insane, going wild over some people banging on some drums and strumming strings is completely ridiculous. All music is is sound assaulting my eardrums, and most of it is people singing about shit that I either really don't care about or really don't want to think about. So why force myself to it? I have experience in listening to music.. I just really really don't like it. It's not that I put a master lock on it and locked it away, I'll try new music.. but like I said it's the same situation every time, not even half a song and I'm begging the person to turn it off. I don't ever think about music, so it's really not a huge deal for me anyway to be like 'man it's quiet in here I need some music'. I just really prefer it this way

 

Yes i do think its a phase because of her signature.

She enjoys Art. Look at the words in it, mainly the one that says 'painted'.

This is a huge part of music, though instead of seeing with the eye, we use another one of out great senses called the ear.

She likes music a little bit already and doesn't even know it.

This is a stage.

I have disliked music my whole life.. I've never owned my own cd's, I've never put music on my computer, and I owned an iPod touch once that I used just to surf the web away from the desktop before I had a laptop, but I ended up getting pissed off it and breaking it anyways. So unless it's an ongoing 20 year phase, I'm gonna have to say no.


I frequent chat a lot and I've had this conversation in here a lot, most of them didn't believe it at first but now I guess they all accept that I'm just a weirdo about it.

 

You think it's a phase because of my signature? I thought the words were pretty, and I thought the picture was pretty. Pretty does not equate to an appreciation of art. They're not my written words, they're someone else's that I just thought was cool. I don't know what you guys aren't understanding about the fact that I do not like music. It is not just the sound aspect of music that I do not like, it is hugely the thinking aspect. I do not like music now, I never have and I can guarantee you that I will not come around.
