for all religions and different belief systems. I don't get mad when people practice what they choose. However, because I choose not to have a religion and choose to not believe in god, I get a lot of shit from people... does anyone else experience this? Of course, I do live in TN, this may have something to do with it...
Yeah, I do too. And people take me being Atheist as not understanding or not knowing about Christianity. If anything, I've read MORE about Christianity now than before I completely lost all faith in it, just to be informed on the topic I oppose.. otherwise, how can you oppose it. So yeah, it rahter urks me.
Just the very act of belief alone is a religious act, in my opinion. However, we all do have the right to choose what we believe. Or else how would we know, unless we were allowed to first choose, and then act upon it to prove it to ourselves?
I do get annoyed at 'inclusive' ceremonies that are open to believers in any god/s but not to atheist. People get all confused and say 'but it wasn't specifically Christian' what was the problem?

The majority human beings. Intollerance. Persecution and Bigotry. They are the methods of those without method The yes/no stupidity of ego. Human beings are way smart when it comes to tech toys and processes. And are way dumb when it comes to conceptual issues such as a god. Our egos place definitions on that which we are simply INCAPABLE of defining at this stage of our social and intellectual evolution. The problem is. A large proportion of humanity..for reasons related to ego and self esteem. Think they understand the why and how of existence. They 'put shit on others' to demean them. Bolstering their ego. making them 'feel' correct. Without being able to explain the beliefs they have beyond rote repetition of others thoughts.. They know..because they think it is a weakness not to know. When in reality..The greatest weakness in the process of understanding. Is to believe being wrong or ignorant is a weakness. Dear Lmoffet1, Please do not bother much about what others think of you. Occam rightly says that everybody is ignorant about almost everything. As long as your views are not imposed on anybody and you have respect in their faith, I do not see any reason why anybody should disturb your happiness. First of all, the learned guys out there have faith in God but basics they miss out that they do not see God in you. When such basics are not understood, who decides who is right and who is wrong? Please be your ownself and be happy. Without doing any rituals you are closer to God if there is any. There are a thousand thousand different beliefs just in the concept of a creator/director. Occam questions propositions made by others here about their beliefs. While defending the inherent rights of all to believe exactly what they wish. Unfortunately many have aquired beliefs that they feel they need to defend. And do so by ridicule and bigotry. For that is they only way they can defend their beliefs..By attacking anothers. Occam personally believes there is a high propabillity that there is direction in reality.
