Currently...i have no idea what is going on with my hair...ill post pics later im just wondering if what im doing is "right"... I use a salt/lemon juice wash on wednesdays in my hair and wash it with Dr. Bronners on saturdays. My hair is naturally curly...yet it just seems to be balling out like a huge afro...my hair is only like 5 or 6inches long...could this be why i dont see any locks in my hair yet? I havent combed my hair since january. Only thing is i shower 4 times a week because i work at a restruant and i gotta get that smell off my skin because its nasty! would that be impedeing the dreading process?? thanks :)

It make be the fact that you get your hair wet so often. But tbh i have no idea. Maybe wear a shower cap and see if that helps!

I have very coarse naturally curly hair... and my hair didn't knot very well when it was 5 or 6 inches longs... infact i never combed or brushed it before i wanted dreads and i never got knots... just give it lots of time... im willing to bet your hair just needs to grow out a little... once the basic knots get established you will have some very very tight locks if your hair is anything like mine.

    Don't worry about it.

Just don't scrub your hair every single time you get into the shower (you should wash your body off every day) either leave yourhair be in the shower, cause it's good to get them wet, just not good to rub at them all the time...or get a shower cap like tomray666 said.

I just let whatever gets wet get wet...it seems to have helped my hair knot up. It doesn't get soaked because I'm careful to keep it out of direct spray, but it gets misted.

If your hair gets nasty from work...can you wear a scarf or hat or something on it at work?
