Anyone else have that problem? Whenever I see a woman I think is attractive, I always assume she is straight. And even if she wasn't, I wouldn't know how to go up and start talkign to her. lol I barely ever make the "first move". I was just saying the other day that "I need to get more involved in the lesbian community......now I just gotta figure out where that is exactly". lol I do know some lesbians, but not well, and they are all either too young for me or not really my type. I'm pretty much a girly-type who's attracted to the same. Whenever I"m talkign to a woman, who I think is like soooooo beautiful, getting along with her, etc....then at some point she's like "well my boyfriend (whatever)" and its like damnnit I should have known! lol There are gay bars in Denver, going to one next week, so maybe that'll help? I dunno though, bars aren't the best place in the world to meet people. Although a gay bar IS where I met my first girlfriend, so who knows. I've tried the online personals thing....lol yeah thats bullshit. so far has not worked so well. Am I the only one here with no gaydar? sorry this was sort of a "venting" post.
No, you are not the only one. I don't have much advice because you already mentioned the internet and gay bars...there are also gay friendly communities and um... yeah good luck because I can feel your pain.
i concurr. i find that it's hard to meet women who you are attracted to that are gay. because almost always they are straight, but you never know. good luck at the bar next week .
i have the most misleading gaydar ever. i'll find the gay chicks, but only the psycho ones! i think i'd prefer it to not work at all... but goodluck.... i dont know how denver is with gay pride, but in philly there's usually like glbt festivals or events, try looking for some of those?
LGBT is huge in Denver/ Boulder, considering Colorado Springs is south of here. Boulder Valley schools had the first GSA in Colorado, and produced safe school training materials. I don't know why, but catch a Wendy Woo show. crowd is 50 percent lesbian or bi.
well what are your techniques on meeting ladies? do you just assume they are going to confront you? or is their no gay-dar. Either way their are lots of easy ways to see if a girl is gay, or interested in you. You should always make eye contact and maybe throw in a little smile. if she smiles back and you find that she keeps glancing at you she is either creeped out by you or is interested. lol most likely interested most straight girls wont take the time of day to take a second look at you, unless your wearing a nice pair of shoes. But you might need more interaction with her. say your at the grocery mart and she is standing in front of an item you need just simply say excuse me and say something quick that makes her need to respond, as in have you ever tried these? man i can believe the weather today. I do not play woman i love them to the fullest, and absolutely appreciate their being. I have been in 3 long lasting relationships and just got out of a 3 year one. Just mingle and dont be afraid of rejection and i promise you, you will find someone good and possibly quick. I am so stoned right now so if none of this made since i am so sorry you had to read this lol..
Trust me, I know how it is. I live in upstate, NY and we have more than a couple gay clubs. Problem is, it's just gay guys and "fag hags". I get so mad when I see a cutie patootie over at the bar and come to find out she's straight!!! I haven't tried online dating but I have spyed on them quite a few times. I guess I'm just not comfortable enough to try that side of dating. Sometimes I feel so doomed. Anyway, just found this forum and I'm loving it!
I joined the queer group at my university. Sometimes they have queer groups for people in the work force as well? Or support groups. I have issues with TALKING to people I like. I doubt this is unique in any way, but it's HUGELY embarrassing.
