Not the most exciting topic here. I think she's starting to figure out that I have an issue with one of her dogs.

    My girlfriend owns two dogs.

Both dogs are annoying, but the dog of this topic is on another level. I'm not good with breeds, so I don't remember what the fuck he is. He's small and he's old [which means it might be too late to train him].

Other than eating and sleeping, ALL this dog does is whine all day, scratch at the bedroom door and follow my girlfriend around the house. He is relentless and this is ALL HE FUCKING DOES. Every single time I see him he whines, scratches and follows. He's butt ugly which makes it worse.

Outside of that he has zero personality or anything that makes him cute or bearable. She told me that he's always been like this.

He just HAS to be in whatever room she has to be in. If she leaves the room, he follows. If she goes outside, he goes outside.

Both of them do this, but the other [younger dog] doesn't whine all day. The younger dog is a little bearable because he's cute, but honestly that's all he's got going for him.

He's been to the vet twice this year. A few weeks ago, he was vomiting in the mornings. Both times he got a clean bill of health. Part of me was fucking annoyed. I was hoping he was going to die.

    Sorry, but I was.

I would have felt bad for my girlfriend and we would have been stuck with the other dog, but man, just thinking of him not being around anymore did make me feel a little better. I'm not proud of it.

Just fucking tired of him. He's always around. He's a boring one trick pony. I've been lucky with most of my dogs. I don't know how much I can handle anymore. He's gotten worse in the 6 years I have known him.

He's just whiney, miserable, annoying and always present.

Today, my girlfriend opened the door and let him in for the hundredth time. She saw my expression and told me that she knows I'm annoyed. Every time I see him my fucking blood boils. I just don't like his face or his personality.

When I first met him, I liked him a little bit. That turned into annoyance and now in the last few months I have actually admitted to myself "I fucking hate this dog."

I'll have to ride it out until he dies. Luckily we don't live together and she likes to get away from him as well. I'll just have to hide my hatred of him a little better.

Seems like a dog that grew up in an abusive environment. The post makes me wonder if it’s still going on…..perhaps the humane society can find the dog a more hospitable home.

Some love , some attention and some snacks would go a long way to help this situation, I think. Or a new home for the poor little guy.:(

Wow. Your post is annoying, cold-hearted, and whiny. I have nothing good to say about YOU OP. I could understand if he was aggressive or dangerous, but he isn't. He's not your dog and you don't live there, so get over yourself. :rage:

Take him to a vet----he might be hurting. Oh never mind---that might cost some money and a little of your time and attention. Or take him to the SPCA so he might get an owner --THAT GIVES A SHIT!! Absolutely agree with Whirlwind.

Dogs can be spoiled you need to get used to it. If the choice comes down to you or the dog. I think I can guess who would go first.

    Sorry this is happening.

A lot of dogs have separation anxiety, so it's not that surprising.
According to these articles, you can still train old dogs:
Training an Older Dog: When Is It Too Late?
Is It Ever Too Late To Train A Dog - [Vet Explains Pets]

The following around part might be hard to train out of him, but the whining might be easier to change.

If he stopped whining, would that help enough to make the situation tolerable?
