College kids know jack shit, despite their years in school
College kids get scholarships for showing up to school and repeating menial patterns.
    They learn nothing.

College kids: defined as - youth with financial backing, no sense of personal responsibility and no idea of future planning. Youth. Adolescent, positively poorly underdeveloped, sadly post-pubescent plebs that have managed to find where their dicks might go and, god forbid, create spawn.

Ever populating waste of human mass that do nothing but perpetuate an idea of 'more'

    More learn'ding
    More drugs
    More friends
    More status
    More nothing.

I see a glorification of a body of people that do nothing - but because they are protected, not just by their daddy's lawyer, or perhaps the guise of 'education', they suddenly become our future

    and. that. frightens. me.

I see the people that my parents told me not to be, become people with sway

And I see myself constantly comparing 'me' to 'them' - dropout vs achiever
But I have also seen myself achieve and end up shoulders over head in matters of actual life - not only academia.

Perhaps I'm just jealous for their leeway in naiveté - perhaps I was taught to not be naive.

I just know that when I have to wake up at 7 in the morning, I don't want to have to hear a bunch of belligerent idiots steer their flaccid dicks into some clueless twat and make an unfortunate child that knows nothing better than to recreate what they were taught.

Maybe my problem with college kids is that they are not taught the value of innovation - of not following what everyone else is doing and not obeying to a structure that allows them no other expression than a sliver of monetary wealth.

And I hate it because I see my own self doing the same thing. I just have an ability to see outside of my self.

you realize you're generalizing, right? I'm sure you do, Mr. Educated.

I pay for my school out of pocket
I don't know very much about very much
I have learned things in the classes I pay for
    Daddy's lawyer? Seriously?

I guess I'm not understanding why you hate people (because all ages to go college) that continue education past high school.
It seems to me you just hate idiots (which most kids are), which is reasonable.

I'm not seeing the college connection.

Of course I was generalizing. I don't think you read any of that.

College Kids, not "Everybody who goes to college"

College teaches you what to think. You can use this to benefit your life, cause you are going after something that you want. Yes you will have to take a load of classes that are rather pointless to your actual goal. That, is all based around money, but that's life and the country we live in if you go to college. At least you have a choice though... Most of us are forced into public school at young ages... forced..

Nothing wrong with going to college if you know what your going for, and I mean you fucking know what you want. A lot of the vast majority go into college to young cause they have been told and feel for years it will help you, then walk out with a degree that is all to common and they cant get a job because their are no jobs, and you apply somewhere and they want experience, but you have none cause you just got out of school. So you have to really know your shit, and have ambition like no other.

If you don't have a degree, or don't use it, college is basically worthless and a shit ton of debt for years and years. Though if you get down and fucking fight for what ya want, college is just another hurdle as you run towards what you want. The problem is its a big fucking hurtle that many drop out of and even if you pass it doesn't guarantee that the next hurtle will be any easier.

You fail to see that I am talking about a very specific type of person.

Funny how the author is an idiot for not acknowledging the presence of an attention seeking troll, determined to start a personal argument because they have a mental block on anything beyond themselves.

I do hope you are trolling. Maybe read my rant a few more times. And consider, again, that I am totally aware that I am generalizing.

I apologize if you can't see beyond how this DOESN'T RELATE TO YOU, and in that case, you lose. Have fun with a life.

I guess I am just reflecting here on the devaluation of education in our country. Normal people, like myself, try to go to college but the pressure to do well or be fucked in life - or to study something profitable or be fucked in life, becomes too much. I feel like I would have been able to really flourish in a college environment without stress about money.

A lot of the college kids I encountered and encounter these days in a different state remind me how there are people that can go to school to study psychology off of their parents' good will - more likely they didn't want to have to babysit them anymore - and be a complete shitbag otherwise.

And when you are a shitbag, you are bound to be tied up in some legal matter. What young, party kid won't? I did. But I also didn't have political sway to be bailed out and party on. I grew the fuck up.

It's just a shame to me. I am paying ludicrous amounts of money to have relearned what I had pretty much mastered in high school. The same material that these same idiot type kids chose to slack off on back then. And it was free.

I feel ripped off. By the standards of education in this country, ultimately. And I blame these college kids, because these ones that I am talking about (sunshine, I underlined it for you), are going to graduate, get a seat in daddy's firm and propagate their scummy genes and do it all over again. Meanwhile, people who can't just let the cost of a fucking mis-education are pretty much fucked, being a slave to a desk job so that they can pay off their student loans. Totally worth it.

That is, if we aren't all dead:

I also dislike how college tends to cause peoples' noses to stick farther and farther up the more they are there.

Yeah, I went to a Tech school too. Tuition was cheap as fuck....I remember one semester only costing about $1700. And within 2 years of graduating I was making 60k. The people there were pretty cool too.

    Hello,

We went to college, and are therefore better than you by default.

    Love,

    Everyone who went to college.

College is interested in making money. You pay to get something in return. That return is a fancy receipt saying you spent 2-4yrs learning about something that there's no market for. People think 4yrs and they'll live the dream. Fact is 4yrs and you'll be in more debt than you were in 4 years ago. With only more to come.
