I've started doing this search thinger since I picked up some rather old used books at a local book sale thinger (school texts, one from as late as 1932, another from 1953, another printed in 1908, plus a German bible, date unknown) And two of the books have a bunch of names and places written in 'em (yaknow how you did in high school, or at least in mine, you put your name and school and grade n stuff in their to keep track of your own book) and now I want to hunt htem all down, learn all about their history *eyes* Makes me feel a little creepy, kinda like I'm spying on them but at the same time, it's superduper interesting. cuz I'm a freak who finds people-parts of history interesting, even Saskatchewan history. Minor problem is that I think the borders changed or something twixt then and no, or a school relocated, something.. locations don't quite match up atm in Saskatchewan - one place is closer to Red Deer AB and another is listed down in N Dakota hmmmmmm hm hm hm I'm gonna staaaaaaalk you!
Die Heilige Schrift Wartburg-Bibel the foreword was written in 1842, but obv this is a reprint, I doubt any book would last that long here in SK with it's book-hating, historic-desecrating heathens (ok they aren't that bad, just apathetic)
That's Not Interesting... That is Fascinating...I Would Love to Join You... It Interests me Anyway...History...Of the Common People...
I don't think that's creepy at all, it sounds absolutely intruging and I'd love to hear what you could find out! I love learning about people's histories and I love history in general. Funny, because when I was in school I always hated it, but now I thoroughly enjoy it!
The first house I moved into down here in MO had an attic and when we were adding the remodel to the attic space the create a second floor we found letters from a guy sent to his aunt back from the Korean war. We tracked the guy down (small town and they never seem to move away) and he was so funny. He told us he had wrote those becuase they used to force them to write home, he had to live with her as a child as he lost his parents. He said he hated his aunt, lol and to just toss the letters, lol.
I love searching for some good used books... there's a great used book store on the way to my in-law's place... picked up some great reads there!
when I write in school books I jsut usually write something weird about mine, or someone else's penis
