I don't get this..

Okay.. out of curiousity I come to this part of the forum every now and then.. and I'm noticing something.. it's the same thing over and over and over again!

Someone posts pictures of him/herself (usually a girl though), saying stuff like: "oh I hate this picture, but I don't have another one".. "I hope I'm not boring you with my stuff".. "I don't like myself, so please don't hate me for looking like this"..

Alllways the answer to this is (no matter how the person in question looks): "Oh my god!! You are soooo cute!".. "You are soo sweet and beautifull".. I mean.. seriously.. if someone is really not so goodlooking, why lie about it? Ofcourse, someone can be the nicest and sweetest person in the world.. but that doesn't mean that you have to automatically think they are gorgous looking.. right? But why not refrain from posting instead of lieing? I understand everyone is just trying to be nice and I'm not suggesting you should be commenting the sometimes hard reality.. but.. well.. anyone get what I'm saying?

And nooo.. I'm not going to post my pic here If someone I know is truly interested in having a face to go with the nick, they can pm me..

So.. this was my two cents.. I'm wondering if someone feels what I'm saying? No mean to offend anyone.. if I did.. sorry!

 

What makes you think these people are lying, not everyone likes perfect looking girls/boys. Peoples tastes vary.

 

Okay.. Good point.. and I wouldn't have an answer if it weren't for the contradiction in your post.. if you think that they are not perfect looking, why do you think they are still good looking? Because the people I like, are perfect looking to me!

Nah.. I'm not flaming here or anything.. I was just wondering if I would submit pictures here and I choose not too, because I don't want to get all the "ooh's and ahh's", 'cause no matter what you're look like, you'll get'm

It's different if you just need mental support.. I sometimes post somewhere with the deliberate intend to get a hug and a peptalk.. but usually I'm pretty straight forward in asking for that.. and that would just look silly in this perticular forum: "this is me, I'm insecure, so tell me how damn goodlooking I am!".. hehe

well, as is my understanding, these are supposed to be hippie forums. forums for hippies. hippies believe everyone is beautiful!!!

 

I think if someone doesn't like the way someone else looks, they won't post anything for that particular thread. I know for my part if I respond to one of these pics, Im' quite sincere about my opinion and not just being nice. There have been a few where I'll comment on the smile or lack thereof. Or if I think the picture is inappropriate. Other than that, I just keep my mouth shut if I don't like the pic. But I will comment on either the ones that I find absolutely adorable, or on the pics of those I've had some form of correspondence with.


Velvet, I think that you're gorgeous. You should consider posting it here. Not that you're doing it for the praise of others, but just to give people an idea of what you look like. I'm a curious one and I come in here semi-regularly. I've been trying to get some pics of me, but I haev to have someone willing to take my pic before I can post it. I'm still working on it, though.

oh big deal. Does it really bother you that "ugly" people are getting compliments? Yeah, no one is really bored, or has just that one "terrible" picture, or thinks they're the ugliest thing on the face of the earth, but who really cares? Get over it. I'm sure you are tons more beautiful than the rest of us and if you put your pic up we would see what real beauty is. It's nice of you to let us know that you're above posting your pic- yay, good for you!
I'm sincere in my comments. I don't mind if someone posts a negative comment about my pics, I'll take the good w/the bad and appreciate the honesty. I'm no model, I know that, but I don't care anymore. I don't have time to look at everyone's photos, but I think most people who post here look pretty nice.

that's what this place is for, to post pictures of yourself and for people to comment on those pictures. things aren't gunna change just cuz two or three people don't like the way the site works. it was like this long before you came along, so if you don't like it, get the hell out.
