I couldn't get a job

I couldn't get a job this summer because of some bitch girl working there. I went in and asked for the application and she wouldn't give it to me. I asked why and she said, "We don't hire freaks, go to the circus instead." I got really pissed and told her to fuck herself. Some guy (I think was the manager) came out of his office and told me to leave or he'd call the cops.
So I'm broke, no job, and probably won't be able to get a job there...ever.

at 14 i worked at mikey d's. try there because it may be a bitch job, but after you turn 15, at least you have had one a job and other places will be more likly to hire you.

If I applied for a job would you tell me to go to the circus? And they hired fourteen year olds, when I called to ask they said they did.

^there's a picture in your sig too, i'm assuming it's you. and i would have told you to fuck off too. i like manson, and i don't give a shit what you listen to on your own time, but when you are trying to get a job the person doing the hiring doesn't know anything about you, so you need to make a decent first impression. which means making the effort to make yourself presentable to a potential employer. if you are too fucking lazy to even do that, then what is there to make this manager think that you aren't going to throw away your uniform and show up to deal with customers dressed in a way that would offend some of them? it's just common sense, if someone doesn't bother to try getting hired then they probably won't bother to do a good job either.


besides, it's not like this is the only place you could possibly work, there's probably other places that would hire a 14 year old, assuming you have a work permit. just don't go in there trying to start a fight and you might have a better chance of getting the job

Why do you even need a job? You're 14--it's not like you have bills. What do you even need money for? Just do under-the-table stuff like babysitting or mowing lawns. That'll give you some spending money without having to deal with assholes. There you go, problem solved.

 

When I was 14 I sold Adderal and made $40-$80 a week. You could always resort to that.

 

You do need to look presentable when you go to apply for a job. Most people dont want to go to a store and see a chick with black hair, black clothes, and crazy make up. youd scare a lot of people away. (not that theres anything wrong with the way you look) But if the manager thinks your gonna scare customers away, he isnt gonna hire you. Next time, go up there with some normal, nice clothes, and less make-up.

 

I know where you're coming from. Don't listen to these rude and ignorant assholes. I've had the same problems that you do now, and I wish there was something else I could say to comfort you, but the bitter truth is that by the end of the day these people own their companies, and therefore they can legally discreminate you based on your appearence. Don't take it as such a big loss, though. Knowing how these people are now, are you sure you would have liked to work there anyway?

You did the right in there. Don't let people walk all over you just because ownership of something makes them feel like better people than you and I, and that it somehow permits them to treat other people like trash. It doesn't. There's no excuse for being a dickhead. You stood up for yourself. Good. I'm proud of you. You're braver than most.

You're young yet. You've got so much time ahead of you and so much to expirience. Don't worry, you'll find something.

For everyone's information that said I needed to look "presentable", I wore a pair of normal jeans, black/red T-shirt, didn't spike my hair, didn't wear as much eyeliner.
So just because my sig shows what I usually wear, don't go around assuming I go in looking for a job like that.

 

Or it used to show what I normally wear, I've changed it. NOW it's Marilyn Manson, not me.

 

Umm, I need money because my family's not rich and they don't give me money every time I ask for it? In fact they don't give me money for anything. And who said babysitting/lawnmowing frees me from having to deal with assholes? There are plenty of assholes in my town, thank you very much.
I need money for BUYING stuff. Like I said, we're far from rich. I don't know where you grew up, but you're damn lucky if no one there was an asshole. And you're lucky if your parents gave you money for everything with you were my age.

 

Nevermind. Sometimes people have a hard time distinguishing between needs and wants. And I have a very hard time believing that your parents never buy you the things you need.

 

I didn't say they didn't buy me things I need, I said they didn't give me money every time I asked for it. There are things I want that I can't get and need money for. Cds, etc. So please stop putting words in my mouth and read the post before you respond.
