I can't think of a good title...

I'm a newbie here, eventually getting dreads, hopefully sooner than later. I am a medical professional, so I can't go the au natural route in getting dreads, so I've been researching other ways to get them. I found this picture online somewhere and wondered if any dreadheads out there can tell me approximately how long it took for her dreads to look this good, and if it's possible to tell what method she used to achieve this look? I need to go the quickest route possible due to my job. Advice?

It looks like they are crocheting them in the picture, and there isn't really a way for us to tell you how old they are.


Edit- also, it is my opinion that if you feel dreadlocks might interfere with your job, it is better to just avoid them then go for the manicured twat look. Dreadlocks aren't a good style for those who want them quickly or all nice and tidy.

 

It's obviously crochet, you can see the frigging needle at the back of her head. She was probably getting them put in there and then. I wouldn't want them as my dreads they look like fish poo.

And Sarah_Again, my job doesn't care that I have them, but I can't look all nappy in the process. I've seen several dreadheads that are neat and tidy. They all don't have to look like shit.

I guess I'm done with this forum. There are alot more forums around that are more inviting, less smart ass'ish, rude people that will certainly be able to help me, not chew my ass off. Fuck ya'll!

To the OP, her dreads look alright in my opinion. I prefer the natural look, and I would agree that they look backcombed and crocheted.
