I am a republican for alot of reasons...but just a few that apply to the forums...

the word democrat means...for social equality...and popular for the people...well..i do not belive in doing what is popular...i believe in doing what is right..i also do not belive in social equality..i think all people should have to work equally as hard for what they want...the harder u work, the more u deserve..right?

I do not belive i am better than anyone because i am a republican...i do not like how people protest..instead of protesting go out and volenteer ur time to help someone near to u who needs it...i think it is wrong to say u hate the president and ur country...i do not care who it is..liberal or conservative...i am proud of the contry i live in regardless of who is running it...I defintely wouldn't wanna live anywhere else...like in poverty...i never once said i hate kerry or that i hated clinton...it's hard to be in charge of the country..just because people belive different things...it is not reason to hate....liberals are so hateful..they like to call names and protest(*not all of them, infact my best friends are democrates, but we luv each other..) i do not necassaryly like bush..but that doesn't mean i hate him either..or that i will not vote straight republican...i wish people could open there eyes...

I don't hate you, but you need to wake up with this comment. Tell this statement above to the 2.1 million people that had manufacturing jobs that have gone overseas and will not come back in the last three years.

Support an administration that spearheaded a policy to lower interest rates to an artificially level, hand out nonsensable tax cuts and encourage people to go out and buy, buy, buy then counter that with a corporate tax policies that takes their jobs away.

If you don't watch the news, don't look things up on the net and don't do everything you can to be informed, you are doing a complete diservice to yourself in terms of understanding the ongoings of your nation that you love.

Go ahead, go out there and support an administration that has made the most fiscally irresponsible decisions since the great depression. But wait, you wouldn't know this because you don't watch the news and find out all the information you can by any source possible.

 

Actualy, from what you say you sound like an old-school republican, from back when the party made sense.

Unfortunately, it seems to me that the party has now been taken over by religious nutjobs, corporate interests, and a "war is peace" philosophy. Perhaps you would be better served by the Libertarian party.

As for me, I'm voting democrat because they aren't insane and/or greedy like the Halliburton executives running our country now. I would probably vote libertarian if I thought they had a chance, but unfortunately, this two-party system is just a shadow of a democracy when you get down to it, and anyone not selected by the dnc or rnc hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell.

Besides, Bush lied to us about the reasons for going to war(Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11 and Bush knew it, and there were no WMDs), almost a thousand US troops have died since then and that is absolutely unacceptable behavior from a president. I think the guy should be impeached for that.

Well first, not all "liberals" are the same. Also, not everyone on here is a "hippie" some hate, some love. Just like you guys it takes all kinds. That being said. No, I don't hate you. Why would I? you believe what you believe and I what I believe. Neither one of us it totally right. It is not possible. This country was also founded and is based in some pretty Republican traditions. We all need to be honest about that. It is part of what the animal is. Yes, I love GW Bush too. He is human and suffering and flawed. Same as me. I am sad that he is president and I am hurt by how much these policies hurt people but that is about it. Kerry is flawed too. We all are. I am not sure what you might have been expecting by posting such a thing on here. I mean if I went to freerepublic they would be all over me. I think you have gotten some pretty nice responses. Some bad ones too. What do you expect? Not everyone on here is loving. That is life. Thank you for supporting this board too. I look forward to hearing your viewpoint and sharing with you.

AND I have to say reading how naive my post sounded that I am a "liberal" because I grew up poor. I have a sick mother. I know what suffering is from personal experience and I know that it takes ignorance to think that we do not all deserve the same shot. Which is impossible to do in this country no matter how hard you work. It is like winning a lottery. It takes ignorance to think that all poor and suffering people need to just '" work harder" it is not that easy. the lower the pay on ajob the harder you work. I know people who work at shitty jobs that wok ALOT harder than my husband does at his $150,000 a year job. And no, we don't WANT more tax breaks! Not of it hurts others. We make enough to be taken care of. WHy should I have food and a place to live because my husband was lucky enough to be born in a family and place where he had opportunities and someone else didn't? he admits himself all the time that he could have NEVER finished school and did what he did if he had not been
