So I'm not ready to fully get dreads. I plan to once I move out of my parents' house.
But my mom was watching American Idol and I happened to notice that Steven Tyler is one of the judges or whatever and I loveddddd his hair.
His whole head wasn't dreaded, but it appeared (now I didn't care to watch tv, so I didn't get a good look) that he had like pieces of his hair wrapped up in thread and it kind of looked like dreads.
Ah, I don't know how to explain it, but I'd love to do that to my hair so if anyone could help me out that'd be great :)
I'd look it up on google but I don't know what to look up.

It's better if you don't know.

    You're sad that I'm a newb?
But yes, I'm very very sad.
Do you guys think my hair would dread well? Here's the only picture I have that shows partially my hair (excuse the excessive editing. My friend got carried away)

Do eet!! Stop combing and conditioning, wait 6-12 months, keep your fingers out of it (except for washing your scalp), and you'll be stoked. :D

Also, diluted baking soda is a great alternative to regular shampoo. :cheers2:

Yeah, I already don't use any shampoos/conditioners/hair products. Expect for maybe the occasional raw coconut oil. It's done WONDERS for my hair, haha.
    But I do brush it.
Hmmmmmm, I'll sleep on it and decide whether to dread or not to dread.
    Thanks though :)

Water is another great alternative. What it really comes down to is that things need to be right enough in your life that you can just let your hair do its thing.
