How did I NOT know Michael Stipe is gay? Whenever somebody would say he was, I was to quick to defend that he was not. I mean, he defintely has gay face. How could I be so stoopid?
Like I said, I am a fool. And I said I defended the fact that he wasn't gay, not that I am personally defending him. Mmk?
From the NZ Herald: No. It helps aging old men whose careers went extinct 10 years ago. It helps get them back in the spotlight for a moment. I have only one question: Who cares???
i have no idea when stipe came out officially..... but i do know, my brother (now 27) is gay, and had a serious REM thing going on when we were real young.....well, i was really young, he was an adolescent (still really young, but less so than i) i dont know how coming out may have helped or hurt stipe's career, but i do know that, right or wrong, my brother found inspiration in the song "everybody hurts" to the point that a homosexual adolescent brought up in a christian family was steered away from the suicidal tendencies he had........ there are a lot of differences between my brother and myself, and i can't say i truly understand him or that we've got a great relationship, but he is my brother and i love him. if stipe's music had a message that helped to keep my brother alive, then as far as i'm concerned thats just fucking great. i don't know much about stipe, dont know when he came out or whatever. i dont know or care if it helped his career.... but i think the music is pretty good, and while its not my favorite for stylistic reasons, i can't find anything bad about it. idk. whatever.
I saw them live this year because I got a free ticket. I don't really like them much but I'm sure a fan would be satisfied with their live performance. One of those huge bands that actually have like 3 good songs. Like U2.
3 good songs? Are you insane in the membrane? Stipe is a musical genius. All of his songs are good songs.
