Hypothetically speaking - lets say you have an opportunity to win $1,000,000 in a contest. To win - you must choose from one of the following five options: "Punch" option ---- You will be punched in the face, just once, by a big fat man. The punch is guaranteed not to be fatal nor to cause brain damage, but you will likely sustain a nasty injury such as a split lip, black eye or perhaps even a broken nose. After being punched - you will be given the $1,000,000! "Bomb" option ---- Nothing will happen to you. However, you will start the countdown on a huge bomb that is hidden deep inside the center of the Earth. The bomb is large enough that, when detonated, it will cause devastating earth quakes and floods all over the planet. The bomb is completely undetectable and can not be disarmed. However it will not detonate until exactly 5,000 years in the future. As soon as the countdown has started - you will be given the $1,000,000! "Insults" option ---- Twenty people will shout terrible insults and obscenities at you for one full hour. These people will not come into physical contact with you nor harm you, but they will say all sorts of horrible and upsetting things to you. After one full hour of intense verbal abuse - you will be given the $1,000,000! "Magic" option ---- Your personality and ethical convictions will be painlessly altered in some unknown way by a magic spell. The alteration will be instantaneous and will not affect your memory, cause brain damage nor result in any physical harm of any kind. After the alteration - you will be given the $1,000,000! "Nothing" option ---- None of the above. Nothing happens to you or anyone else, but you will NOT be given any money. Which option would you choose first? Second? Third? Etc...??? 1 - well, 5k yeas ought to be long enough for humanity to have either destroyed itself utterly already, found it's way out of its cradel, or found and disarmed the damd thing. 2 - doing nothing and getting nothing for doing so would be my either second or first choice. (how much can you really do any more with only $1m. anyway? more then i can now without it certainly. but not nearly as much as i would like to) 3 - insults for number three. that might be interesting in and of itself. i'm not that thick skinned but i am curious to see if anyone comes up with any that haven't been hurled at me before. 4 - the magic option might be interesting and could even end up bennificial. maybe even more then the lolly. as long as i still had my immagination and i could still use the computer to express myself creatively with. if it just made me look wierd or something that would be really cool. (and even cooler if it made me look wierd in a secret way that i'd like to). '5' - physical abuse in any other context then sexual gratification, forget it though, and also only if it doesn't cause any permienent physical damage either. otherwise there are only the four above on my list! i'm sure taken togather this all says something about my psyq profile or something. and the bomb one could probably be used against me if i were running for political office. or to discredit my position on the priority of the kind of world we all have to live in. but then we won't be living in/on it if/when it goes off, now will we. but 5000 years, where humanity will either be in 5000 years ... =^^= .../\...
definitely the hour of insults. it would actually be fun for about 5 minutes, then i would just tune them out (a skill i'm quite good at) second choice is the punch in the face; the bomb would make me feel guilty, i'd be afraid of negatively altering my personality (though a million dollars would be likely to do that itself), and obviously i don't want to not get a million dollars
Pft, punched in the face for $1 million. I'm into lethwei. I've been hit in the face a lot of times. Still pretty though. I guess the Punch would be number 1. Over quickly. Instults would be number 2. Odd's are I would just be thinking about the money. The time thing is the only reason I'm chosing the punch in the face option. I wouldn't change my personality. Or destory the earth in the distant future. Kinda the coolest option though.
1 - Take the punch. Easy. 2 - The insults. Sticks and stones may break my... 3 - Do nothing, get nothing. I'm alright now. I would never take the responsibility of wiping out mankind as much as I sometimes despise it and I don't want to change my personality. Imperfect as I am.
1- Insults (I find them funny) 2- Punch (Been there done that wish I could've gotten money from it) 3- Nothing (I couldn't set off a bomb to hurt people, and well my morals need to stay the way they are.)
He'd make your brains explode! lol I think I'd take the insults first, because I've had a lot of nasty things said about/to me and I've survived. The punch in the face, definitely second, because come on, ouch! And then nothing because hell, I'd rather be stuck in the situation I'm in than know that in 5,000 years time, my greed will end the world, and I could never give up my fantastic personality or morals.
1- the insults, i'm sure i've heard worse things coming from my father 2- bomb, cause like seriously coolest option available, and i'd love to be able to say, ha i blew up the world in 5k yrs 3- punch, as long as i'm still pretty... i mean my face is what's gonna get me through life the rest of the options were lame
Pro fighters don't take him seriously, but they don't have the balls to pay him money for a lesson. His logic may be even mighter then his fist. And punching through a mellon. I like that guy.
