Hydroponics

in my opinion, there is nothing special about hydroponics. It seems like alot of people here think that it's something really great and spectacular. It is just another way of growing indoors.

It's a way for law to think 'hmmm there's a fucking hell of a lot of electicity being used form that premises' causing cause for investigation and possibly busting. I know people who have been fucked over on the basis of the sheer amount of electricity those hydroponic farms need to run efficiently!

 

Plus - hydroponically grown skunk is missing something compared to tru homegrown.

 

Growing hydroponically does not increase the trichromes or the potency of the buds. But like PsyGrunge said, you do lose the aroma and the taste of the buds when grown hydroponically as opposed to soil. So when someone is using hydroponics as a sales pitch- that's all it is. As far as I know, there is never been a winner of the Cannibis Cup from a hydroponically grown bud. Plus, if you are really looking for yield: you would grow SOG.

I haven't tried it but I know people who have and the only benefit is to commercial growers. It doesn't produce a quality bud. Flowering time is the same- no matter what the medium of growing.

Have you ever seen a hydroponic grow in Amsterdam? And there is a reason why you haven't. Quality exceeds quantity everytime: unless you are a money grabbing commercial grower.

it has nothing at all to do with quality of the bud, its just a lot easier to grow more quantity. without having to be very knowledgeable as a grower.

aside from that, curing also has a factor in the quality of the bud. you take some hydro grown shit and cure it bad, or don't cure it at all, its going to be sub-par even if it was good shit to start with

oh well, lets just let all the misinformed people waste their money when someone says "yo i got that dro man! 60 an 8th" and we'll keep growing/buying high quality soil homegrown

wet, dry, trades, hydro, soil, whatever. good weed is made by good growers. soil and hydro are both worthy means of growing top notch weed. just smoke it already.

 

your reading skills seems fine, but your comprehension skills are severely lacking

i never said growing hydro means your not knowledgeable, i said it's easier IF you are NOT to grow a good crop when using hydro. meaning, it takes more skill to grow in soil properly.

as far as the curing part, thanks for re-stating exactly what i said

so many ignorant people think just because its grown hydro, its going to be good bud. i was saying that even if its grown perfectly, or grown in a hydro setup, you can fuck it up with a bad cure, meaning you would be getting low quality hydro bud, which according to all these 14 year olds around here is impossible beause "dat dro is the chronic nigga"

and i dont need a botany degree, personal experience, and association with those with more years of experience than you've been alive serves me quite well thank you

nobody is saying hydro grown bud is bad, we are saying that labeling bud as hydro grown means nothing as far as it's quality like some think it is. you can have good hydro bud and bad hydro bud, just like good soil bud and bad soil bud. i think pax was trying to get people to realize that quality of the product is completely independent from the growing method. ive had incredible hydro and incredible soil, but just because its grown with a hydro setup does not mean it's going to be superior in any way

 

he never said it increased potency, but yeild, i think, idk.

i have no opinion on this 'cause i havn't smoked dro, or any decent weed for that matter, hheheheh... (kind bud FTW - yea, it's crap)
