Yes, to all HF members who are in Hurricane Harvey's path, please be safe and do the right thing. Let us know you are ok!
Agreed, such a cyclonic nightmare deserves a dastardly name. Like Hurricane Hitler. Or Hurricane Hillary. And of course, Hurricane Trump!
they dont have harveys in america? ok ill make an american one its going to blow thru texas the way harvey milks would blow a load into your colon
Texas police have been giving advice on things to do and not find during hurricane Harvey. 1. Don't drive through high waters 2. Get groceries you can eat without electricity 3. Gators and flooding advice. Expect them to be displaced. Simply looking for higher ground. Leave alone until water recedes If they didn't suggest this I would have never known https://consumerist.com/2017/08/25/heres-what-to-do-with-gators-displaced-by-hurricane-flooding/
Harvey's makes a hamburger, a beautifuk thing Spaceman, was it Harvey's that had green burgers or pattys day one year that turned people bodily functions purple? Oh never mind. It was Burger King.
I wonder how many texans dont know how to prepare dinner without a microwave or speaking into a microphone at a drive thru window OMG, KFC has been closed for three days, and Im all out of hotpockets, we're all going to die!
Disaster management checklists in this regard will be very useful, so that nothing is left to chance through memory lapses. :wall: Here is a good link.
-laughing- worst thing about long power failures, I have been through a couple in canada that lasted days is no access to the internet, computer and tv was the worst. Must not forget - Texans do know how to BBQ and kill cattle for meat, those Texans, they are a resourceful bunch! Get propane or charcoal! I liked the photos of gators who are displaced. Gator in the road, drive on by. Gator at someone's front door, leave him be and exit elsewhere.
I hope everyone in Texas is okay. I'm a little bit relieved because I believe it has been downgraded to a category 1 rather than 3.
