What was left of Florence blew through this area today depositing 2-4 inches of rain over a short period of time before heading out to sea. Good Riddance!

From someone who does not live in hurricane country, an inquiring mind wants to know, Is this how hurricanes tend to work where most of the death and damage happens after the hurricane has passed or is this just the nature of Florence?
