There are many of you out there who are meat-eaters yet you have never been hunting. Please answer these questions below: if asked, and you had some free time, would you go hunting? Do you believe it is "wrong" to hunt? How is hunting bad but buying meat in the store defensible? Believe it or not, there are a lot of people who believe this. No that they're wrong, but I have yet to hear a good argument from them. I realize that I'm merely rehashing a very well known debate and none of my questions are novel, but I still would like to start a discussion about this. I have never been before and I fully respect hunter's views, but I never really wanted to look down the barrel of a gun and blast a creature to bits. I just happened on an article written by a hunter explaining that BB guns are actually used to maintain accuracy in the off-season. Birds and other small game are the target and of course they are cooked and eaten, not just left to die. I still have my old air rifle and maybe I'll give it a shot tomorrow! I think the whole de-feathering and cooking part might turn out a bit messier than I plan and I would like advice on how to go about this but I'll save that for another post. Cheers
No, I have no interest in hunting. That's a man's job; I cook. Also, I'm such a klutz I don't trust myself with a gun. And, I don't eat deer. However, I would be able to kill a chicken if necessary. I don't believe hunting is wrong, provided the animal is not an endangered species and the entire animal is put to use.
well, you damn sure dont want to blast it to bits. doesnt leave much left to eat. Hunting is just fine. It's simply another form of harvesting food. Nothing more, nothing less.
I'm all for hunting; Release the Hounds :cheers2: “To hunt a species to extinction is illogical” – Spock Hotwater
I don't think hunting is wrong, but I truly don't believe killing people is wrong either. that said, I don't like killing things and wouldn't do it.
I rarely eat meat, but when I do, I want to know where it comes from and that it's organic and not processed and shit. I want to go hunting... besides the fact that you do all the work yourself and know your meat is real meat, the whole experience of hiding out in the woods, just being in nature. it sounds peaceful.
The only hunting I approve of is hunting with honour and using a bow, spear or axe Using a rifle with a fucking scope and shooting them while theyre drinking from a pond is just cheating
and putting an arrow in a deer, and wounding it and letting it live for weeks in pain is fair? bullshit rifles are tools, if you are going to kill an animal, you should have the honor to do it all at once, and not inflict long painful suffering on the creature. your colon is not the big picture.
of course i would. i've been asked, just always had something else to do at the time i've killed chicken before though, and then did the whole preparing it and cooking it process
I always tell people I have no problem if other people hunt. I'm just not into killing small forest creatures.
I'd rather go watch paint dry. In most cases, yes. My stance is not: Meat is murder. If your life depends on it, then sure, hunting is acceptable imo. But, if it is not, then no, I think it is just not worth it and you have no right to. I even get a little miffed when a lot of inuits go out hunting, when they don't have to really. "Yeah, but it is part of our culture" - Well then sir, don't go out with your modern weapons - see how you fair then. The point is, there is meat in shops, so why should anybody need to go hunting if they do not need to? That's what farmers are for
Thats why you work as a team and outsmart it You get people to go around and cut off its escape route, waiting to ambush it if the initial attack fails to kill it
