html image problems

    im trying to post pictures in my blog from my hipforums gallery, but i am having problems getting the tags right. it only comes up with a red x... this is what it looks like:

    <IMG SRC="http://www.hipgallery.com/photopost2/data/500/12248ig182_08_02.jpg">

    does anyone else have an eblog acount? thansk for the help :D

    actually, what i did was i got a free acount with photo bucket, and they have the html tag right below the picture to use. it works great now. all i do is highlight, copy and paste. thanks for all your help and info.. html has always been a foreign lanuguage to me :p

    Not with the <img> tag apparently, though I've seen some where it is <img src=... /> :confused: Guess it depends on if it's HTML, XHTML, or some other similar thing.. :confused:

    I don't know HTML very well. It's possible, I'm confusing it with BB code. I admit that.
    I also know that there are sites that don't allow remote loading. Which is what we're talking about. MSN doesn't allow it. That's when you get the red X.

    yeah, you're thinkin of bbcode, all the html i've seen isjust the <img src="picture.jpg">

    Actually XHTML is the new standard. HTML is on it's way out. According to XHTML specifications closing your image tag is now correct and valid XHTML. However most browsers are still going to display older versions of HTML. I personally am a pretty sloppy coder because I learned HTML on a webtv, but most browsers don't have any problem displaying the pages I've made.
