I(we) live inthe UK-Hello!-We woz wondering,we have heard from a good source(namely the Ed. of Soft Secrets U.K. that better results are obtained by using HPS bulbs throughout Vegetive and Flowering stages, rather than the usual 'swop' from Metal Halide to HPS.does anyone have any thoughts or experience here??
The only drawback I've seen with using hps for veg is that the plant stretches vertically a bit. I currently have my veg plants under cfl's. they get bushier with stronger stalks
You know after reviewing some of the "tweaked" hps bulbs today this thread popped into my head. The Ed of SS may be right (to an extent) for the wrong reason. The HPS wails out more lumens per watt than the MH so with spectrum adjusted bulbs there would be more intensity which = more vigorous growth. So yep "Myth Plausible".
